Tried to google this company, trying to decide whether to buy or not. Only link that comes up is https://www.maverickgames.com/, which has casino, and apparently specialists in "crypto games" whatever that means. Dodgy AF. Tried to ask on GOG forum - it won't let me. Well, what can I say? Is it a good game? Maybe, I guess I will never know.
AI in this game is pretty weak, esp. in comparison with Planetfall, where I find AI is much better. Trying to fool users to create online account if also shameful. Overall, good game with some faults and bad management decisions.
Won't run without administrator rights. Can't launch from within Galaxy - starts installing launcher and fails. I wonder what they need priviledged access for? Totally not shady at all /s. Also, for the price they charge such schoolboy errors are kinda gross.
maps are smaller, it repeatedly crashes on Huge Maps, AI is unbelievably slow even on modern hardware, i.e. press next turn, then go make a coffee, then make another coffee, and another. HOMM3 was a masterpiece, whereis HOMM5 is a pile of crap which gets 2 stars only because it reminded me of HOMM3. Also, guys who know Nival as a company - all their games were always unbearably slow, they just can't code those guys, and that's probably the gist of it.
