1995, Kamurocho… Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima, takes the fall for the murder of a crime boss to protect his sworn brother, Akira Nishikiyama, and his childhood friend, Yumi.
2005… Akira Nishikiyama has become a changed man. Yumi is nowhere to be found. Ten billion yen has gone missing from the Tojo Clan's coffers, putting the organization on the brink of civil war. And Kazuma Kiryu is released from prison to a world he no longer recognizes.
With enhanced gameplay, an expanded cinematic story, the return of the battle styles from Yakuza 0, more nightlife spots, and re-recorded audio by the series cast, Yakuza Kiwami is the ultimate and most “extreme” version of the original vision of the series, now optimised for PC with 4K resolutions, uncapped framerates, customisable controls and ultra-widescreen support.

Yakuza Kiwami makes great strides in updating the classic original Yakuza game to modern standards. But while it adds better combat, bizarrely charming side quests, and a gorgeous graphical revamp, it also ignores some of the original's biggest problems in pacing and storytelling. And because of its relatively short length, Yakuza Kiwami's fun trip through the tangled web of Japan's criminal underground feels like a prelude to something bigger and better to come.

Almost perfect remake
This perfectly captures the feeling of the original Yakuza, and adds a few improvements when it comes to the controls. While I personally think the expansion of the fight system was unnessecary, I can see why they would. Same thing with adding in all the new side stories. The game was perfect before, and I spent over 30 hours completing the original on PS2 back in the day. I really didn't need MORE, but for people who can't get enough it is a nice addition, The only thing I was kind of missing was the english voice overs. I know they stopped doing that entirely after the firat game, and yeah, the original voces are much better, but no matter how much I play the newer games, and this remake, I will never stop loving Mark Hamill as Majima.

Good Old Yakuza
absolutely a must have for your game collection, it's stunning that a game like this was realesed on ps2 back in the days. the kiwami edition is an incredible opportunity to play the firtst story of kiryu in hd with a lot of improvement
