GOAT game but important caveat
First let me addres the title - the game is a goat'd strategy game that you will likely be seen being sold for pennies during sales, but in reality it is pretty much MANDATORY that you also purchase the War of the Chosen expansion for the true XCOM2 experience, which isn't sold for the same deep discount as the base game. So when deciding if you are going to purchase it, keep in mind that you have to add on the price of WotC, and possibly the Reinforment Pack DLC (not mandatory, but adds some nice story ties to the first game, and adds new items and a unit type, though strictly speaking they are mostly overshardowed by whats added in WotC.) As for the game itself, if you enjoyed previous XCOM entries the big question you might have is if this entry was going to try and add more features to bring it closer to the original games or if it builds upon more of Firaxis' take of a XCOM game. XCOM 2 is firmly in the latter, but it does so by so refining, polishing, adding more depth (with WotC...) and addressing the issues of the first game that XCOM 2 truly stands on its own merit, winning over this player who counted himself as an original XCOM fan who thought Firaxis' first XCOM outing was just "good for what it is." If you are new to XCOM, just know that this is a great starting point for one of the most addictive strategy games you're going to play. This is the type of TBS that uses random chance to determine what hits, which I know can be a sticking point for some, though imo planning your strategy around unexpected failure is a feature not a fault of these types of games.
