Buy some chips and drinks, and let the fun begin! For many years, this game gave me a throng of sleepless nights with my friends. Sometimes we just met to play this game all night stand. The game is easy to configure through the menus, and the pads are simple. The rounds don't usually lasts more than 10-20 minutes, and you have uncountable scenarios to play. There's also a lot of weapons to fight. Definitely, a must have.

It actually works with Windows 10 "out of the box", unlike the Steam version. While it lacks many of the later "bells and whistles" that have come and gone, it has many of the best core mechanics that started with it. I personally like the art style, despite the DOS-era pixel graphics. The atmosphere is brilliant. Some of the gameplay nuances between the original and later iterations are also interesting to experience. It aged well, if you can look passed the old graphics. It's still fun to play, and is among the best in the Worms series (better than the flop titles that departed from this classic formula). Of course, Worms 2, Armageddon, World Party, and WMD all offer far more features with increasingly more modern visual styles, but they're all good in their own ways because they're also so faithful to the original.

Despite newer worms versions added a lot of new weapons and boosted graphics, the first game is undesputedly my favorite. I think that mostly because of ninja rope - it can be mastered a lot more in this title. Playing with friends and family on "hot seat" mode is the most preferrable way of enjoying this title. Hardest AI always uses wind to its advantage and never misses. When playing with computer I strongly recommend limiting granades and bazookas, because those two are almost only weapons computer uses. When you leave them without those, it makes playing against CPU a lot more fun.

It's a fun game. I love the artwork and music. I think it aged well, if you don't mind pixels. It is also fun to see that a lot of great ideas started with the first game in the series, you can tell Team17 had a good team working on the game. I am one of those players who don't play online, so AI quality matters. The AI is brutal with classic weapons - bazooka and granades. However, it does not understand friendly fire nor mines, so it often shoots itself in the foot, which is balancing its ability to hit any target at any distance. One disappointment is level design. Randomly generated levels are repetitive and boring. I didn't have a chance to play with friends, but I expect it to be somewhat similar in this regard to later Worms games. I think it's interesting to see where the franchise started, but other than that Worms Armaggeddon is a better choice.

The basic gameplay is so good! It's fun to take a few minutes and play a game. Such a great foundation for the later games. The one problem is graphics that can make it hard to see what's going on. That is fixed in later games. The fact that this product includes the soundtrack makes its purchase a no-brainer.
