Nearly Perfect

Would have gotten a perfect rating from me if the animations would have been a little bit better. Nothing more I can add in comparison to other reviews.

Great interactive movie

Telltales formula of interactive movies where you get to influence the develpments and presentation of predetermined stories is pretty good. The overall theme and plot of the stories is predetermined, but you do get to influence how the main characters gets to react to whats happening and how he builds relationships with other characters. Sometimes your choices dont effect much, but other times it can be quite consequential. Generally, the characters, dialogue, story developments, atmosphere are quite good. Its based of a comic, but I cant attest how well it relates to it. The graphics are simple, but the art style still looks quite good. Audio is very nice as well, voice is acting is solid. One thing I didnt like is the inability to skip/fastforward any dialogue/actions. I did encounter some bugs where some text about reactions werent displayed properly and glitch where I had to restart a chapter, but nothing gamebreaking. Game can lag out your PC if you alt tab, so optimization isnt perfect. Unlike later Telltale products, theres also no feminist, SJW or leftist pandering, so nothing is ruined by that crap. Overall, if you like narrative driven experiences, go for it. Its quite interesting experience set in an original world.

unmemorable

I wouldn't call it an adventure game, but something more like a "decision-driven animated series". I don't mind though, after all I'm mostly in for the story. While "playing" TWAU was enjoyable, in restrospection I feel cheated. Due to the minimal user engagement (and thus lack of frustrating moments) I played through all season 1 without any second thoughts about whether I should continue or not. But at the end of the day, the 5 episodes ended and I realized there wasn't anything that this game didn't really pull me in, nor did it leave me with any strong feelings. No different from watching some mediocre TV series or "kitten videos" on youtube: Too mediocre to shake you or stay in your memory, but too comfortable to keep watching/playing. pros/cons: +The graphics were beautiful +the world of Fables seems interesting - I'll certainly look into the comic books! +replayability (eventhough I personally wouldn't waste another 5-10h for that) -the voice acting of the protagonist (whenever trying to appear angry), was annoying... -the story wasn't anything special - that would had been okay in a game that had to offer more than the story, but this game had no gameplay/puzzles/scenery so it was all about the story, it story it did not deliver -you can't skip through dialogs/cut-scenes (and this prevents me from trying other paths)

Works On Windows 8

Hey people. Whatever the thing may say, this game does work GREAT on Windows 8. No matter your processor or speed or graphics or whatever, it does work. And works perfectly. :)
