Witchaven - Descend into a dark and gruesome nightmare! You alone must face the evil within the volcanic pit of the Island of Cha. Witchaven is a first-person fantasy slasher set in dark medieval times. Dare to enter this 3D Hell... Dare to enter Witchaven!
Witchaven II: Blood Vengeance - Continue the story of the knight Grondoval in this first-person fantasy slasher. Get ready for bloody encounters with vile creatures and vicious warriors. Stop an evil witch from carrying a titular blood vengeance in revenge for him having slain her sister.

WHAT'S INSIDE THIS RELEASE

You're getting two builds per each game: patched (Enhanced) and retail (Original) for those of you who prefer an unaltered experience as a bonus. All builds are running on DOSBox with a custom configuration tool. The Enhanced builds feature fixes introduced in EGwhaven, a must-have community project, which addresses an array of bugs and issues with the both games (we'd like to thank ETTiNGRiNDER for the contribution to this release). Additionally, the controls are re-mapped to what you'd expect to see as a default in a first-person game nowadays.

You can access the Original Build through Additional Executables section in GOG GALAXY or find it in the game folder.

My 2 favorite games of all time!

There's only 3 Build engine games worth playing: Blood, Witchaven I & Witchaven II! Finally all three of them are available on GOG, FINALLY! Witchaven I is my personal favorite game of all time. Thankfully this GOG release comes as the classic version AND the patched Enhanced version which features modern resolutions, modern controls (WASD + mouse look) and patches, this is the way to play it. Unfortunately the manuals and the Build Editor are NOT included.

play Hexen instead

The first Witchaven is worth playing, the second one is even more of a mess somehow. I appreciate they actually bundled this both games with an enhanced version, but still, this is only recommended if you're a fan of Kusoge, otherwise you're better off playing Hexen. PS: god dammit civvie

The Pinnacle of Entertainment Software

While Witchhaven commits the cardinal sin of being a Build Engine game not called Duke Nukem 3D, Blood or Shadow Warrior it is in fact the pinnacle of entertainment software.

Они скучные

Раздачей остался доволен, набрал тут тонну афигенных раритетов, ещё и игру бесплатную дали, но вот конкретно этих брать не стал, они скучные, медленные, уровни однообразные, мобы вообще какие-то мультяшные, эдакий закос под Heretic и Hexen. Единственное чем они запомнились так это тем что декорации в первом Diablo, а именно уровень с Бутшером (мясником) были чуть ли не точ в точ срисованы отсюда, не помню только с какой части)

Not really a hidden gem

I got this game back when it was released strictly for the cover art and of course that was a mistake because the game itself isn't all that great. I felt ripped off, kind of like those old Atari games with the great cover art but the game itself is awful. I'm not even sure I'm going to put this on my wish list, it was very clunky even back in those days. I knew it wasn't gonna be as good as Doom but I was hoping something like Heretic and it it wasn't even close to that unfortunately. if you love 90s eras shooters you can probably enjoy this somewhat but I can't recommend it I gave it two stars because they chose some great cover art.
