I have no idea how the play this game, and the game itself offers no hint. The controls are anything but intuitive, and I got the feeling you'd really have the be into this kind of thing to play it. Hell, I could not even bring up a menu to quit the game - even after pouncing and all the function keys after the escape key did nothing useful. All it did was bring up one foreign menu after another. I finally had to use the Command+Q to get out of it Wing Commander 3? No, thanks.

Wanna experience a great story? Wanna be the hero of a SF masterpiece? Wanna see that a game over 20 years old can still hold up? If yes. Play wingcommander 3 Sure the graphics look dated . Sure the audio can sometimes have small stutters. But the emerison this game can give you is unsurpased. Who know it only took 6 screens to simulate a space carrier. And only 5 ships to feel like an entire arsenal? Well the ppl that made this game knew. If you never played this your missing out.

I saved up my pennies to buy this one back in 1995 and when I finally got it working on my 486DX2/66 it barely handled the performance requirements. I didn't care. 10 minutes for a mission to load... fine, it was worth it. This game was a glimpse of the future. It raised the bar for all other games to reach. Now I'm playing it again on my old busted laptop. Missions load in 2 seconds now, ha! I don't have a joystick but mouse controls work fine. The characters and dialogue are beautifully cringey and cliched but that's all part of the charm. Nostalgia only gets you so far of course and the gameplay needs to stand up still. Fortunately it plays great and the original fun of space combat is perfectly preserved in this game. PS. Why did they make the Flint character so annoying? Of course Blair would never choose her.

The Wing Commander released is not the patched version. Can not get pasted the last mission
