Warlords Battlecry

Recently, I got an urge to play this game again after so many years, but the cd (which I still have) didn't even begin the installation. This downloaded version, however, worked like a charm (I have Windows 10). Well, there were times it randomly crashed, but not too frequently to become annoying; saving every 10 minutes was enough of a safeguard. I only bought it for the story in the campaign, since not only was English completely alien to me as a child, the videos did not play in our old Windows XP. Now, I have finished both light and darkness routes in story, with hard difficulty (with the sole exception of darkness last level, which I had to go with medium, because f**k that 3 army zerg), and I feel a little more fulfilled. The gameplay is little unbalanced (healers, namely white mages, are op and mage heroes are superior to warriors and rogues in every way) and the opponent AI can get units stuck when you load a game, but overall it was a pleasant experience, considering the age of the game. The story wasn't the deepest of epics, but held my motivation to finish it long enough. Now, if you want it only for the gameplay, I would advice you try the second game, or the third, they honestly do everything better than this. In the end, however, I'm glad I got my closure with the story, and I'm rating Warlords Battlecry 5/5.

I was introduced to this franchise like most players... with the amazing tun based games. I have played the Battlecry series over the years and still own the third one. I am so glad to see GOG making these available but am desperately wanting to see the ORIGINAL TBS series here as well. GOG has a great service and I hope to see more to come. Keep it up!!

I've played battlecry long time ago but what I remember is that the game had lots of fun unbalanced stuff like overleveling, excessive quest use and item generation :) While battlecry 3 is way more polished than the first it has become much more balanced and boring. Also I find the campaign of the first one more engaging, than the lack of campaign in the third. Another point would be why it was not bundled with battlecry 3 but...

I couldnt believe how packed and fun this game was for a game made in 2000. I was lucky enough to play it when i was 9 and have loved it since. No game has come close. Even thogh this game crashed a lot, it didnt matter because it was way ahead of its time. Games today do not compare to the complexity, features, and fun of this game. They only have better graphics, nothing more. This was the game that popped my Gaming Cherry which set me off to being better at every other game because of how dificulte and challanging this game was.

Hi, just thought I'd say this is awesome! I liked this game more than the other RTS games! This is way better than all of them. So were the sequels But Part 1 and Part 2 are Top! However there are some glitches I found that are a problem for Windows 10 and up. I think they need to fix this and patch it a bit.
