Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat

This is the first of two WarHammer games with the same characters. The Shadow of the horned rat is really a good game in EVERY way....except one. You have to get use to a somewhat complicated interface in getting them to respond in battle. You will learn it Ok by midway thru the game. I also beat it (on the 10th time saving all the way) but I am a perfectionist...I don't want to lose even 5 men. so this means a lot of saves. You REALLY have to be careful what and where you chose to fight and WHICH and HOW MANY troops you take with you (these ARE mercenaries remember). No Gold, no recruiting...If you get too beat up, it takes a lot of gold to replenish...starting to get the drift. The missions get more complicated and really do leave you with a feeling of satisfaction when you win one and have little losses. I won't tell you which ones to take as you have to take your beating like the rest of us...but at 5 bucks. Trust me, I would rather play this game (it is real time) just as much as Shogun. There is a sequel called WarHammer Dark Omen. They use the same guys, have streamlined the interface, changed from recruiting to getting troops as you go along the scenario's (but still need to not lose too many men and COLLECT that gold!!! Good Luck... Buy Shadow of the Horned Rat it IS worth 20 to 60 hours easy of play....Dark Omen will be along sometime after everyone sees this one...Good Luck!!!

Works fine for me, am able to get into battle with no issues.

Bought, installed, and then have been screwing around with this program for the last 45 minutes. Wont even get to a "Start Screen". Total Joke.

The most time spend playing this game goes: Play, Fail, Load repeat this 100 or so times and eventually RAGEQUIT!!! So DAMN hard for a few reasons: UI is akward to use, you're allways outnumbered, replenishing and using your troops cost too much gold (you pretty much have to win every battle without losses or atleast with minimum losses) and last but not least Murphy's law is extremely STRONG in this game. I won't go into more detail regarding the last point (look it up on wikipedia)... If you had to choose between this and Dark Omen, I would recommend the latter. Still great game if you like a challenge and have nerves of steel. I don't so no fun for me. ps. works fine on my win7 64bit and playing with gog galaxy

Win 10/64. Can't start the game. I get like a billion error messages about missing files, reinstalling doesn't do anything, fixing doesn't do anything, compatibility mode doesn't do anything, administrator settings don't do anything and turning off antivirus/firewall doesn't do anything and anything else I can do doesn't do anything. Fix it or remove it from your offer ffs.
