As the first ever video-game adaption of the Warhammer world, Shadow of the Horned Rat not only brings the table-top adventure to life in this real-time strategy, but adds its own story to the wondrous mythos. With over 25 individual troops to choose from, you can create and lead your own army to battle across the many fields of the Old World. You can also forge your own story in this adventure, choosing to follow the main story and defeat the Skaven and Orc forces, or accept the work of the many patrons Paymaster Dietrich can procure. With increasing difficulty and expansive lore, this adaptation is a fine first-step for the franchise and a must-play for both RTS and Warhammer fans alike.

You take control of a mercenary warband and try to complete contracts around the old world of warhammer! Your units take experience through battles and you gain gold so you can afford their expenses and hire new units to join your rank! Warhammer Shadow of the Horned Rat is the first try from Games Workshop to create a real time strategy game for pc around their tabletop wargame and they made a good job for back then! So prepare your self to fight Orcs, skavens and much more!
The graphisms are not a 2024 AAA, but pretty much everything else is ok.
Maneuvrability is easy to get a hang of, and the managing of a mercenary companies un the Border Princes kingdoms is exeptional.

If you love warhammer fantasy this game is awesome. It take you to an epic adventure throug all Empire, and to Elf and Dwarf realms too. Epic story an awesome music. It have it all!
Love this game. It is so hard it is nearly glutton for pain. The gameplay is great. The controls could be better. I keep pressing the attack button right when it switches to retreat. Always gets me. Graphics are great in some aspects. The combat is 2D trying to be 3D. For its time, it was amazing. Music is decent. Voices are great. Except during a video, an orc, IMO, regular speaks WAAAAAGH!. Sound is great.
But the best part is it is the World of Warhammer. Being in Warhammer is so cool. Very few GW games were released and this gem lets you play in the world of story through various mercenary missions.
