Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate

Great game! Unfortunately it has some problems with windows 10 and it runs very slow, like 19 years ago on my old pc ;)

As disclaimers go, results may vary. If you're using Windows 10 in order to bypass the 0xc0000022 error upon start up of the game, you can try the following method to get this amazing game running again. -Search "Windows Features" -Locate "Legacy Components" Drop down -Click to activate "Direct Play" and "Legacy Components" -Press OK to activate the features. -Now try to open the application. I bought this game minutes upon writing this review, found a solution that worked for me and figured I'd save someone the trouble of having to search- If it works, go H.A.M! As for an actual review- Yes, This game's graphics hasn't aged well, but it's aesthetics and ambiance are incredibly well done for being designed in the 90's. If you've played XCOM, you'll feel right at home.. Careful loadout and planning on the game board is crucial- The Ai love's to overwatch and completely obliterate your forces if you unsuspectingly wonder into LoS. It has a well scripted campaign of 15 missions with a segment of side missions to further level your Company. Custom Missions are created at your discretion with the capacity of editing game type, terrain type/elevations, enemy density, squad and vehicle compositions. Chaos Gate is a fantastic throw back to 40k's, 3rd edition of the tabletop. This is when GW didn't throw their license around like they do now. Do yourself a favor, get this game, it's quality is impeccable in comparison to Rites of War and Final Liberation, which were released around the same time.

Its a fun classic romp, but your results may vary on how it can run on any individual PC. Be it an unofficial patch you can find here in the reviews or something as simple as enabling compatibility mode (I also enabled Disable fullscreen optimizations and Run program as administrator.) Your results may vary, no fix is perfect, but checking for a solution is well worth the effort for this great title!

make battlefield 1942 with mods/patches playible again... the first and only battlefield.. and more old school games so the neww generation can see what we had to struggle with.. hahahaha

Happy to see the game has been made compatible for modern operating systems, just waiting for it to be available for windows 10, I have purchased the game anyway, I have some nostalgia and love for this game, but if you enjoy turn based tactical gameplay this game is a must buy would of been a 5 star rating if it worked for windows 10.
