Удивительная.
По правде сказать я тот еще казуал и пройти сильно дальше пролога не смог. Нестандартная механика тонко вплетенная в мир. Потрясающие образы Сестер и Братьев. На последних смотреть страшно, не то что сражаться с ними. Отличное озвучание. Несколько проведенных часов оставили неизгладимое впечатление. Игра вне времени. Может когда-нибудь организую вторую попытку.

Imagine the great dialogue and art direction of Pathologic, except with a much better soundtrack and fun gameplay. That's The Void. I can't really put my experience into words; it's a hard game that will most certainly take you dozens of hours to get through. However, those hours will not be spent walking, like Pathologic, but rather, managing your colours and fighting enemies, which is actually fun, even if stressful. So basically, it gets a 2 stars for feeling like a fulfilling experience for the soul, 2 stars for the well-designed mechanics (this game is actually rather fair to the player, unlike Pathologic) and 2 stars for the awesome soundtrack and visual design. If you like the thought of being immersed in a world that will keep you under pressure the whole time you are in it, buy the game. If you like good soundtracks, buy the game. If you like the thought of filling naked ladies with colours, buy the game. If you're not a psychopath who doesn't understand the concept of emotion, buy the game.

An uniq atmosfear
Although there's so much games I like, here is my first review there as I waited for this release for so long... Just because the Void is a breathtaking journey with an incredible ambiance. It's a demanding survival horror (you will die surely several times before being able to grow and collect color from cycle to cycle) where you have to... well... listen or not listen what the beings of this strange place will tell you and decypher its mysterious rules. Music, whispers, strange creatures and a bare environment complete the sensation of oppression while you slowly travel into the Void, cycle after cycle. "Remember, Spirit... Souls can only move up... and down."

Another really awesome dev!
Don't have anything else to add to the other reviews. Just wanted to add that the Russian Developer of this game. Actually got involved with the Pirating community, to answer questions, help new players and encourage people that liked the game to please purchase. He even and released a bunch of bonus content via torrent. Just felt this point may encourage people to purchase this game if they are on the fence about it. I am always for supporting devs who don't act like tyrants. AWESOME DEV!

fascinatingly niche
I picked this game up on disc not long after it came out. The description and title piquing my interest. What I found was a fascinating world, an art direction that easily moves from hauntingly beautiful to twisted horror reminiscent of Clive Barker's monstrosities. The story and dialogue are equally haunting and filled with melancholy. This world is dying and many denizens have either accepted it, or just try to maintain the status quo, prolonging the inevitable for just a bit longer. And then there is you, a small spark of potential in this bleak and dying world, To save yourself you have to bring color back to the world but this actually speeds up the destruction of the world. And so begins a game of cat and mouse and careful resource management to get enough color to escape while avoiding being taken down by the brothers. The premise alone could make for a truly fascinating game but unfortunately the gameplay lets it down. Quite a few bits of gameplay information you get throughout the game are incorrect as parts were not actually programmed in or removed but these changes weren't reflected back in to the game. In general the tutorial is sparse and you will heavily rely on trial and error. Save often and use multiple save games, you will need them. The controls are a bit clunky at times, especially the painting can be unnecessarily frustrating. Having to draw figures on the screen has never been one of the best mechanics in my opinion and the void does not improve on it. The boss fights can be very challenging at the best of times and downright impossible if you are not fully prepared for it. Though the game claims multiple endings they are all very much alike and equally disappointing. And yet, having said all that I would recommend it. The world and feel of the game is fascinating. If you have the patience for it, it is a wonderful world to explore and definitely a game that I would classify as a work of art.
