Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption

If you played a master- piece called Bloodlines and wanted to taste some more Masquerade delight... skip this ...thing ... Read the story on Wikipedia and watch the cutscenes on Youtube, but dont waste your money on this pile of wasted bits... The story is a win and the idea of implementing two completely different settings is brilliant... but the gameplay... oh, the gameplay. The controls, the camera, the combat system... there are no words that can describe how bad the gameplay is... I know that most RPGs have mediocre gameplay which serves as an engine for the progresion of a usually good story... but this game is simply unplayable... Do your self a favor and stick to the Bloodlines. :)

Еще до покупки этой игры, я примерно догадывался, что получу за свои деньги. И хоть меня радует собственная прозорливость, это так же означает, что играть более в Redemption я не буду. Изначально у игры хороший фундамент. До мелочей проработанный сетинг, любимый многими. Хорошая озвучка и диалоги. А в многочисленные и длинные катсцены вложено столько усилий, что игра даст фору многим современным играм. Графика у меня нареканий не вызвала. Хорошие текстуры, нормальная анимация. В Redemption плох гейплей. Кошмарный интерфейс, камера, которая ничего не дает толком разглядеть. Предметы выпадают так, что их подбор превращается в пытку. Очень сложно управлять более чем одиним персонажем. А жажда крови настолько быстро увеличивается, особенно у моих соратников, что играть стало совсем невозможно. Но, признаюсь, я выдержал лишь пару часов. И может быть со временем я бы свыкся с камерой, наловчился управлять персонажами в бою. Но мне не хочется. Что толку наслаждаться сетингом и диалогами, если сама игра не очень?

Maps don't work or don't exist. Lumination in first quest is ZERO. Spent 1,5 hours trying to find the way in absolute darkness despite I had a freaking torch.

The brightness controls do not work in this game, so the first dungeon is too dark to progress. The movement in this game is very poor, requiring clicking on precise areas, so without being able to see, it is impossible to progress.

I really dislike this game, above all for Masquerade setting adaptation. For an example, during game you will meet a Toreador woman (clan of art-loving, gentle vampires) and she'll join your party. Are you looking forward to some dialogues and stuff? You can forget about that, just don't forget to buy her a shotgun ammo, because she will be eager to help you kill some enemy bastards! I mean it - take an interesting and very attractive setting, strip down whole RPG idea to some combat skills, replace dialogues by boring and never-ending dungeons, add bad controls and you get Redemption. And comparison with Bloodlines - are you kidding me?
