Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption

I want to like this game, because of how much I loved Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.......but this game kind of sucks. If you are looking for a time-sink, can get lost in story-line, and really like old games from this era, maybe try it. Otherwise skip it. The atmosphere is great. The story line is OK. The game-play is terrible. The atmosphere is good enough to where it is spooky and puts you on edge, which is needed because the graphics can be comical at times. They do a good job there. The story line is....OK, but I didn't make it through the entire game and was starting to lose interest. The characters and voice acting are good. =) The mechanics of what the F is actually going on with the game is obfuscated. You really have no clue what anything means in the game. Should you put points into strength or dex? I don't know, it doesn't seem to matter. Sometimes I waylay things straight up, other times I am feckless. Sometimes I take down hordes of bad guys other times my party gets dropped by one vampire. What is happening? Who knows, there is nothing to let you know what the F is going on under the hood. Overall, it's a title I wanted to like, I put a good amount of effort into it, but was a chore to play. I just gave up, and that was the right decision.

This is one of the Best Vampire role playing games out there, wonderful story , wonderful Characters , and the animation is not bad for a game that was released in the year 2000 . and most of all the atmosphere ! *************** Spoiler **************** and what's even better that you start the game in the middle ages and move through the ages to the modern era which is a cool feature that I haven't seen in many games so if you love Role play games, and if you love good story telling and most of all if you love vampires , This is the game for you !

An excellent RPG that hasn't aged badly. It looks good for a 2000 game. Atmosphere & story are great and mop the floor with many games of today. My only gripe is that the entire game doesn't take place in medieval Prague. Well worth the price - and far superior to Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodline!

"Redemption" is an atmospheric action role-playing game with straightforward and fun (although sometimes messy) group based combat. The storyline may not be the most exciting in a game but the characters are interesting and believable. Add to this a dark medieval setting and plenty of vampire lore and it makes for an enjoyable game. The graphics holds up fairly well, it definitely doesn't look BAD. I've only run into minor bugs and glitches, so it's more than playable. Overall I'm very happy having picked up this game!

This is one of those games you never forget and keep coming back to. I have played this game many times over the years and no matter how long it has been I can remember every cutscene and every challenge the game threw at me. One strength this game has over many modern games is the story. It is truly an epic tale and one that is told very well. Get this game for your collection! You wont regret it:)
