How to insert your own portraits

To make your own portrait, you need to create 2 different images. One with 210x330 pixels and another with 76x96 pixels, both in PNG format. You can use GIMP for example to resize any picture you like. You have to name the larger image NAME_lg.png and the smaller one NAME_sm.png. Put both of them into your tyranny folder that goes like .../Tyranny/Tyranny_Data/data/art/gui/portraits/player/male respectively .../female. Now you should be able to choose your custom Portrait during the character creation. Find pictures you like on the world wide web (of course, you don't want to violate copyright laws) or create your own custom pics. Please don't support this impudence and give them money for a thing, a decent publisher would offer for free.

Wow! Money for Jpegs!

This is the sort of high ground I'd expect a greedy company rapidly running out of money to take. I hope that Chapter 11 or 2 or whatever goes well, you guys. What Avernum, Witcher 3, and many more games have thrown in for free, Paradox goes above and beyond the call of greed to charge for what is essentially things you could get off so many sources for free, with no pesky copyright in the way either. Seriously, libre fantasy art. What's better is that thanks to the screenshots provided, you can see the colorful cast of bland, generic, cookie cutter characters. Each one of them would fail the silhouette test! Who's that guy? I don't know! Who's that girl? Can't tell! But if you want to stare at pretty pictures of characters so generic that even your local D&D group would tell you to punch up the description then this is the right purchase for you! After all, you're probably the type who purchases no-brand figurines from the dollar store too! It'd be a perfect match for this art, after all!

Travesty!

What a ripoff! This should come included with the game. $4 bucks for this? Please, don't support the efforts of Paradox to rip off their audience. I'm sorry the developer Obsidian is involved in this indecent cash grab.

Atrocious, simply atrocious

First of all, I agree with some of the reviews: Yes, it's optional. Yes, I think the art is actually quite nice. Yes, it's not that expensive. BUT (and the 'but' is quite huge). I think that charging money for such content is only a gateway for something bigger. Seriously, It's to ease you up on giving money for little/none content. It's the negation of the idea of companies such as a CDP (sorry, I just had to mention them in such context). I am wholeheartedly for paying developers for their hard work - for example I had no problem buying The White March, because I've enjoyed PoE. And I would gladly pay for such an expansion for Tyranny. BUT... I have to pay 1/5 amount of the cost for BOTH parts of White March for few portraits? And by doing so - to get used to do so in the future? NO. SIMPLY NO.

Can't stop laughing

This is the most ridiculous cash grab I've seen since Uncharted - The Golden Abyss' asked people 1$ for a badly made map of the collectibles. Crap like this is the reason why the little game parody "DLC quest" is so much fun and spot-on. You can almost physically smell the greed coming from these pictures.
