Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is a cute little game that's over way too quickly. While this means that a lot of its questions aren't answered and its mechanics are underutilized, what's here is still a very enjoyable ride with an adorable protagonist (that may need a calculator or two).

I Was Intrigued by the Title...

...and so are you. I bought this on Steam and it's just as silly and cute as you think it is. As for the game, it takes a lot of cues from top down Zelda games with fetch quests, basic combat and simple well-written dialouge about a smiling, silent, and potentially psychotic, turnip who has become an errand boy for an onion mayor by force as he refused to pay his rent. He then goes out on a ridiculious journey that goes out of his way to help and yet NOT help people out in the end. I not only beat it but I got 100% in ~2 hours. But that's long enough in my opinion as the joke would wear thin after a while and the quality and price is just right for this kind of game. I reccommend it at the end of the day though as I did enjoy it.

Beautiful and humorous adventure

This is a very short game but if you want to free your mind with a pleasant and funny adventure you must buy it. You won't regred it. * Don't Forget Evade your taxes!

A short and predictably silly title that plays more or less like a simplified 2D Zelda and does indeed involve a sentient turnip shirking his lawful financial obligations. Not very deep or challenging, though the developers state right off the cuff that they're primarily concerned with accessibility here, so one can't complain too much about not knowing what they're in for. When approached from that angle the game isn't bad for what it is, but the bizarre theme is obviously intended to fill in the sizeable gaps that exist most everywhere else, and personally I found that a lot (though not all) of the much-ballyhooed humor emitted a distinct "this is funny because we're presenting it as funny" vibe, though others' mileage will likely vary. Personally I'd recommend it only at a significant discount, since it went by so fast and offered so little beyond the "yup, we're wacky enough to actually call our game that" factor that I struggle to remember much of it beyond that admittedly fetching name.

Fun and well written

You live in a vegetable world as a turnip. The story is simple but efficient. The control are a bit clunky, when you hit you can not move and you have to way to select an item iin your inventory is not that easy when you need to be fast. There are little sides quests, allowing you to have more hp and learn about the lore. Talking with all the inhabitant gives you well written dialogue. To be noted that there is no menu resuming the quests, you have to read and remember carefully what you're been told. Short game to be completed under 5 hours. If you like simple gameplay and pixels go for it.
