50+ Hours of Fun in the Sun

Tropico 4 is already a solid game, and while I've never been very keen on the incessantly released DLC that adds little content (with the exception of Modern Times), this complete package adds at least another twenty five to thirty hours to the experience. Each of the smaller DLC's (the bulk of this package) adds an outfit, a trait for character creation, and then a new building and a new standalone mission. None of the smaller DLC's have a big impact on the game, but all of them together is essentially an entire expansion pack. Buy this instead of Tropico 5, there's little difference except this game has WAY more content and is a LOT less expensive.

Worth it for Modern Times alone

Worth it for Modern Times alone This collection includes all of the DLC and the expansion pack for Tropico 4. Most of it follows a standard format adding a new building, a new solo mission and map and a new outfit for El Presidente. These smaller DLC can be irritating when one can’t quite shake the feeling that at least some of the content was built into the original game and then removed and repackaged for sale at a later date. Nevertheless this DLC, especially Plantador, Quick Dry Cement and Vigilante, in my opinion offer enjoyable content that does enhance the experience. The real gem is Modern Times which is a fine example of a proper expansion pack that adds many hours of gameplay with several new buildings, the ability to upgrade antiquated buildings, new edicts and an amusing campaign pitting El Presidente against a classically mad scientist. If you have Tropico 4, then this DLC pack is a great addition.

I thought it would be cheezy it is great

I had not heard of the Tropico series before this came on sale. I figured it might be a fun, yet cheezy, city game. Well, it is a bit cheezy, but it is super fun. The "advisors" are often quite humorous. There is no "right" way to play the game. There are a series of scenarios to complete, in order. Only one of them gave me some trouble until I decided not to do the first task until I had built up the economy and had a ton of money. Very, Very fun, funny, and well-done. I only wish that they had one-way roads and other road options available. I suggest getting the mod that allows for easy crossing of roads (without intersecting).

Whie not offer the complete edition too?

Sorry to bring this up, but I think when Tropico 5 has a Complete Edition available with all DLC, than Tropico 4 should do too. It's a rip-off feeling, having to purchase the basegame and the DLCs separately. Cheers.
