Алан Брэдли наконец доработал технологию оцифровывания людей, которая позволяет входить в мир компьютера. Его программа Ma3a обладает достаточно сложным ИИ, чтобы обрабатывать генетический код человека и вычисления, необходимые для переноса человека в обе стороны между физическим и цифровым мирами.
Но fCon (Future Control Industries) узнала об исследовании Алана и собирается захватить компанию. Алан внезапно исчезает, и на поиски отправляется его сын Джет. С помощью разработки отца Джет переносится в цифровую вселенную и раскрывает зловещий заговор.
В компьютерном мире встречаются четыре оружия-примитива: диск, стержень, шар и ячейка, но только диск можно использовать и для защиты, и для нападения. Кроме того, Джету предстоит летать на светоциклах, как классических, в духе фильма 1982 года, так и на новых «экспериментальных», разработанных дизайнером Сидом Мидом (он же создал и оригинальный дизайн).
Tron 2.0. What can be said except WOW! This game is simply phenomenal and holds up extremely well especially in the graphics department. The game is a surreal journey through the inner working of a computer network and a true tribute the the original film. This was one of those games where you're always waiting to see what's coming next and are utterly devastated when you finally beat it. I can't say enough good things about Tron 2.0. The level of immersion is excellent and the game runs flawlessly with the resolution and graphics options maxed out. While not you typical run and gun FPS, Tron 2.0's combat mechanics are refreshing and engaging. A definite buy for anyone who loves PC gaming. Do yourself a favor and pick this title up, you won't be able to put it down.
I had the retail box edition. Body reaction and movement to the disk weapon was a learning curve but the game play environment is entertaining. Still laughing about "Hi, I'm autoexec.bat".
Very good visualizations and the use of neon colors. It simply was a fun game to play.
As a big Tron fan I loved this game, one of the few PC games I kept a physical copy of. Maybe not the greatest FPS out there, but if you ever wanted to run through the tron world this is it.
If you're a big fan of Tron or a cyberpunk-aesthetic junkie maybe I'd recommend, but the gameplay itself has problems. This was a game I was really hoping to finish, however, due to random save corruptions, empty and broken levels, dragged-on story, lackluster gunplay, and annoyingly difficult enemies/bosses it became way more of a chore than fun to continue with the game. It kind of reminded me of Jedi Outcast with some RPG-like upgrades added on, but obviously way worse.
If I had the power to fix/change the game here's what I would've done:
1. Make sure the Tron-disk shouldn't fly off into space and take forever to come back because I always felt like I had to be reliant on only that weapon.

2. Stealth should either be fixed or non-existent. The developers tried to implement stealth but the enemies immediately run and shoot at you when they see you anyway.
3. Ammo types and not just using your energy, because it runs out too fast.
4. Melee weapons are nearly impossible to use on enemies, mainly because you can't dodge bullets.
5. Be able to hold Tron disk as a shield while holding mouse key, not just one click and release. It makes it impossible to shield yourself from attacks.
6. Viable means of healing and gaining energy during boss fights. I felt like I had to abuse quicksaves.
7. Corruption, get rid of it.
Near the final level of the game, I became so tired of the enemies I turned on "God Mode" to try to power through the rest of the game, but that didn't work! Eventually, my Tron disk got stuck in literally nothing and I couldn't equip another weapon so I just gave up. Here's a picture if you care to see: https://imgur.com/a/4ZidceI
I will say for 2003 the graphics are very fun and interesting. The soundtrack is pretty good. I also enjoyed customizing and upgrading your abilities.
But to wrap it up, if you really like Tron maybe give it a try, otherwise, you aren't missing much.
This was one of my favorite shooters on the PowerMac back in the day. They really got the vibe of Tron just right and the gameplay is totally fun. Glad to see Tron coming back to my game machine.
