Very glad I picked this one up

Like others have said, this is a hidden gem. This really is a value purchase and I'm stunned that I never heard of it before it was on sale. It can be played casually, save when you want and has decent re-play value. There are choices to make in the game that carry weight to them, favor of party members can increase or decrease with your choices. Keeping this short, if you like this style of RPG then this is a must have for the price. There are some spelling errors here and there but absolutely nothing annoying, the levels are polished the game itself worked flawlessly (linux for me) and I don't believe it crashed a single time for me. Just get it.

Much more than just the usual RPG food

----------Overview Gameplay -This game is easy to learn and the difficulty level increases pleasantly -You have party members, which are gradually available in normal mode, at the beginning only 2. A maximum of 4 chars can fight together against the enemies -You have to play the first level in the game mode "Normal", only after that you can unlock the >>>RPGLite<<< mode -In RPGLite mode (it's worth starting over from the beginning!!!) you will have all your characters available after 5-10 successful fights -The story is well told, praise is given to the interactions between the characters, nothing special, but well written -The tactical slowdown corresponds to the game title, tactical battles can be played in real time or in slow motion, switching back and forth, and giving commands in both modes -Tactic is essential, but in a pleasant way -The Item Craft System will be unlocked gradually, there are three forms of crystals and different enchantments... You can also find such good equipment ----------Programming/Engine/Technology/Stability -Graphics and sound are okay, nothing special -In the settings you can configure graphics, sound and keyboard layout easily and quickly -Loading times are also okay on HDD ---------Helpful hints, which I wouldn't call spoilers, but really help . . . -In my opinion Kane, Maeve, Whisper and Kaela are a strong team if you have reached RPGLite. Kane as a heavily armored melee fighter and healer, and the girls do a very good job as damage dealers from the distance -Health is an important attribute when upgrading -Some of the girls' spells deal damage to area for a certain amount of time. Combining them is fun. ^^ Concentrate Money and Items to only 4 Members of your Party. Have a good time!!

Almost four stars but not quite there

Story - The Polish to English translation is lacking and make the story in English lose some nuance and detail that would otherwise be there. Overall the story is mediocre and I lost interest about halfway through the game. Levels/Maps - Easy to navigate, pretty, with a variety of themes that work well Puzzles - Generally very easy with answers force fed to you via notes/journals/signs, etc. Some puzzles require significant amounts of back tracking and are clearly there to eat up time rather than give a sense of accomplishment. Battles - There are several types of encounters, with almost all of them posing no real challenge on the 'normal' difficulty. Some battles involve being swarmed by a single enemy type, and those can be difficult as only a few enemy types ever try to take out your casters or DPS characters in leiu of unsuccessfully hacking away at your tanks. Leveling - Leveling is done quite well by requiring 'blueprints' that you find in game as well as costing gold. As there is a large yet finite amount of gold availalbe in game, you are effectively power gated at each level of the tower. You get stat points to put into your vital statistics a la D&D, and also skill points to buff your spells and abilities. These can both be re-rolled at any point in the game for a small cost and allows you to explore different party compositions and strategies without worrying about min-maxing start to finish. Definitely a strong point in this game's design. Crafting - Items you acquire can be both upgraded and enchanted. You can also craft your own items, up to item level 4, with these often outclassing the level 5 items found in the maps. Green, blue, and golden items cannot be enchanted, while purple items can. Blue items can be turned into purple items at forges found throughout the tower (there are not many, maybe a dozen). It's a bit clunky but not difficult to figure out.

Prepare yourself to read

It is good, but is not for everyone nor everytime. It has A LOT of text and less animations. Many times the resolution for some sidequest did not manifest itself graphically, but was told through text. I felt my imagination more free. The scenery is static most times but very beautiful. I think the secret to enjoy this game is put yourself into it. Is like a text-base adventure with graphical representations for some "guidance" on what is going on. And I loved!

A great rpg with an adult story

Like the Headline says it was great fun to play through. A nice and adult story with a lot of twists in it - you never really know whos the "badguy" now till the the conclusion at the End. And for a few bucks during a sale you'll get a nearly 60-70 hours storyline with alot of SideQuests.
