Feels like 2005 flash game

Just like a car advert tries to catch viewers' with hot babes, this game chose controversial political topic. This game is openly leftist and socialist. That is not a bad thing per se. Unfortunately, there is no variety, no added value on top of the class conflict. If this game went with a different theme, say tea/coffee drinkers (the hell, even pineapple pizza), it would end up buried among many more unsuccessful titles, and rightly so. Your fellow rioters behave in strange ways: you can tell them to take a step back and wait, but they will charge to you (and/or the fight) as soon as a) you're under attack, or b) out of screen range. I'd really appreciate if this behaviour would be configurable (i.e. stay on edge of screen, defensive vs offensive crowd). The game also advertises settings control, which is a plain lie. The game is not really trash, but it's really overpromissing and underdelivering. I'd expect this type of content from a flash game, perhaps "1.99 (tax included)" mobile purchase. Maybe it changes in later stages, but the game didn't hook me on to try to get there. If you want some mindless whacking, try waiting and get a sale deal - 12.49€ is really too much to ask. Otherwise - don't even stop and think. Now I have to get a little political. Even the very first riot starts by slaying the guards. Surely, it would make more sense to defeat them and take prisoners. Afterall, "we" should be better than "them". The equipment would be really handy - especially for a bunch of unarmed rioters facing the police, nye? And lastly: I grew up in a post-communist country. People are still trying to "restore the old order of things". The communist party is damn near entering the parliament house. Anyone, who will call me a "comrade" will require no more dentist appointments. Understood?

A Short Game Burdened by Its Controls

“Tonight We Riot” is a perfect mixture of “Tooth and Tail” and “Nuclear Throne.” If you enjoyed either of those games, you will enjoy this one. “Tonight We Riot” encapsulates you with a vivid atmosphere that is supported greatly by a spartan but excellent soundtrack, and I felt the difficult was perfect for me, considering I seldom play games of this genre. The story is interesting and original, and despite its seemingly crass nature, the game presents mature notions to consider that you will mull over even after you have stopped playing it. “Tonight We Riot” has some issues, however. The game is short, and it does not have as much replay value as either of its aforementioned competitors. Its controls can be cumbersome at times too. Fighting enemies’ drones is frustrating. It is unintuitive and unnecessarily difficult to land blows on the flying adversaries. Sometimes, your fellow workers succeed immediately, and at other times, they miss perpetually until they are slain. It is baffling. Sometimes, too, I wanted my comrades to remain somewhere only for them to throw themselves onto the enemy shortly thereafter. It is issues like these that make this otherwise fun game frustrating at times. Overall, “Tonight We Riot” is an excellent and fun game whose efforts are undermined only by its occasionally cumbersome controls. It is certainly worth playing.

An ok game overall

If you're looking for a short game, which looks and plays like an older beat 'em up, this is an ok choice. The difficulty was inconsistent, but most of the time the levels felt easy to beat, especially the bosses. The gameplay was pretty basic and the length of the game was pretty short.

Mercifully short!

It wasn't horrifying, but certain parts of it were seriously agrivating. Particularly the vehicle segments. But managed to finish t in about 2 hours using Parsec with 2 player mode. There is precious little story also.

Awful Escort Missions

NOT RECOMMENDED. You are supposed to escort the suicidal followers to the finish line in order to keep getting upgrades that will make the later missions slightly less like torment. IT is not easy, more like the extreme opposite of fun. I have no idea who this game is for. The level 4-4 is bad enough alone to lower the rating of the game down to 2/5 - you are practically at the mercy of pure RNG there. The stupidest part is how the ranged shooters cause more damage and take vastly more beating to silence, than the armored riot policemen. I do not have the patience to itemize the flaws further - it is that much pure suffering to actually play and is very frustrating (i.e. do not play this if you have depressive issues, your issues are likely to worsen). I noticed slight performance issues with the level ending and starting transitions, nothing game-breaking. Regarding to the 2-player support: yeah, multiplayer is always better in any game. This not a game I would subject my contacts to and expect the relation not to worsen. You are better off with a better game for it such as Door Kickers and even Expendable. I have seen the end and know there is no point in giving this game a chance - there is nothing at the end of the rainbow except a survival mode with more idiot escort suffering. Speaking of Suffering, it is another game more worthy of your hard-earner mula.
