Strangely fitting!
At first i was hesitant, because northerners and their civilization had a big time gap, with those of antiquity. Also, some other reviews bashing the game for the "ad" (upgrade the game, buy the DLC to see the new items, etc), was a shocker. But ultimately, i decided to just do it! Well, what did i know, it was worth it to the last cent! The new item type is awesome, thrown weapons; they can even combo with shield! Rune mastery is "OP", picking that up equals to breezing through normal! Monster infrequents have different coloration. The new outfits are fun to play with. The lore of the north and the fantasy setting of theirs, as presented in the game, was quite catchy, as well. Everything blends in perfectly! To be honest, some occult traditions claim that ancient greeks had found the way north and even came in contact with nordic civilization, or that other lost continent fable that few people (other than the now defunct Thule Society), actually ever heard of. There are some problems with loot, but nothing worth lowering the review score. It is a great experience overall, one of the finest titles of the entire genre! Renovated multiplayer is also another key positive! Game is even fixed to actually give the player the quest rewards, that old game wouldn't, without fan/community patches. Upon release, some of the new content's quest were bugged, but as of now, all of them have been corrected. And there are even some quests with different end result (like the choices found in Grim Dawn), but i won't spoil them. Grinding for levels and farming for good gear are the real thorns in the players' side, as always... Although with "ceremonial" items (lower health raise XP gained) and the brand new Wodan's Wisdom relic, this won't be such a huge issue, anymore... Buy it, play it, hack and slash and click and loot and town portal, till you drop dead! You won't regret it.
