Ведьмак 3: Дикая Охота - Издание Игра Года

A vouchier for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt came together with my NVIDIA GTX 970 card. I hesitated initially as I am (or at least was) not really a gamer, but finally downloaded the game right before the promotion expired. What followed was a breathtaking sleepless journey through a story so personal that I almost shedded a tear at several plot twists. I've been literally glued to the monitor for hundreds of hours, playing and replaying each and every possible side quest I was able to uncover. I also eagerly read the entire Witcher saga and can only say that the game was made by people, who not only loved the source material, but also their audience. TW3 is not just a game but a marvelous piece of interactive story-telling art. Many still compare TW3 with Skyrim and Baldur's Gate and complain how shallow the character- and story-building element is in comparison to the latter games. I don't subscribe to that view. The story in TW3 is so intense that now Skyrim with its blank slate style seems really dull, and not only because of its older graphics engine (I tried playing the special version with high-quality textures to basically the same effect). As to BG, it is a game from a different era, following different gameplay and storytelling rules, and thus targeted to different kind of players (BG is basically an automated dungeon master). The two games are actually complement to each other and can be easily enjoyed separately for double total pleasure. And now, because I happen to own the game and all the expansions, CDPR also gave me the GOTY edition. Not really much to gain, but neverthelss a great little and much appreciated gift! Thank you guys!

Cool that console players get some good mods like Halk's HD rework, but for PC this update is kind of a joke (just like RT). Some of the mods have bugs that weren't fixed before officially being introduced into the game (Real-time Cutscenes cause a certain Yen scene to just not play). Luckily, stutters and frame pacing issues seem to be gone with latest AMD driver + enhanced sync, and I'm getting decent framerates on Uber+, no RT. But for some people, decent is not enough for a 2015 game, and I completely understand. The game is good and you can go back to the old version, so go ahead if you haven't played it yet.

The game itself is still available in the classic version and you can still switch to DX11 and disable RT, but, here is what i assume pisses everyone off so much because it is what pisses me off alot: This is probably a butchered Direct3D11on12 (look it up) job. I understand why RT is so expensive and accept that fact, but a Ryzen 5600 should at least be able to get 60 FPS in the towns with RT on and maybe bottleneck around 60 to 90 fps like spiderman. Instead it´s more like a cpu bottlenecks even on RTX2000 Dollar monster cards in the area of 30 to 60 fps and even below 30 if you got a ryzen 3600 or something. DX12 version is a overhead, wrapper, whatever, they needed to do DX12 to get RT to work as DXR requires DX12. BUT since that DX12 is butchered and not native, it creates cpu overhead and gpu overhead which even with RT OFF gives you less FPS on any setup vs the original directx 11 version. If you know see where this is going: its a free update, a free update nobody can enjoy except with 25 to 40 fps on even 12900K´s or by switching back to the classic GOTY version and ignore this update entirely. It´s free, but not playable, not just because of the awful RT performance cost, fps loss by API switch, but also because like on console, the camera is now stuttery, framepacing is broken, these baffoons managed to introduce shader compilation stutter into a once smooth running game and they still haven´t properly fixed the traversal stutter. The best part of this free update is the option to ignore it, ignore the fact you can only get 60fps+ with RT by using DLSS3 and the best part, truly now is hulk hogans texture pack. ALso cobblestone walkways are now parallaxed/tesselated, draw distances are increased, those things im glad CDPR fixed and improved. Not everything is negative. But the broken framepacing is the worst part. RT i can ignore, dx12 too, but the framepacing PISSES ME OFF. Cyberpunk is weirdly enough smoother... wtf?

Я искренне люблю эту вселенную. Я искренне любил команду, создавшую для нас этот шедевр. К сожалению, нынешняя ситуация и лицемерный поступок CDPR пошатнули мои взгляды. Я до сих пор люблю и буду любить эту игру, но не людей, которые за ней стоят. Я расцениваю это как самое настоящее предательство, плевок в души игроков и фанатов, которые вас поддерживали. Больше я покупать ваши игры не буду. Спасибо за ведьмака.

Ever thought nothing could top the disastrous release of Cyberpunk 2077? Yet CDPR strikes again, bringing you (probably) "the worst patch ever" that has been released for a video game. This "Next-Gen Patch" performs so bad without offering much noticeable visual improvement that you need a 2000$ GPU to play it on max. details. That said, if you are actually able to start it or play it more than 5 minutes without a crash. And even if it seems you've got smooth FPS the horrible frametimes turns it into a slideshow. A lot of those issues seem to originate from the D3D11On12 wrapper they used to implement gimmicks like RT and DLSS3.0 no one really asked for. Would have been actual work to properly port this game to DX12, right? I just got one advice for CDPR: End your obviously toxic relationship with Nvidia and focus on game quality instead so that non of you future releases turn into another bug feast.
