Third person action adventure with RPG elements for good measure. The game continues the adventures of Geralt and the political conflicts of the world, the narrative is great, with a lot of bittersweet stories framed inside an ongoing war, by the end I even felt agreeing with the kingslayer from witcher 2 (even tho I killed him on the previous game), unfortunately there's noo way to kill Emhyr and be done with that royal asshole, and in the end there's no perfect ending (I don't consider the "best ending" a good one). The combat is even more satisfying than in Witcher 2, with a handy dodge key that makes "deathmatch" difficulty a lot easier than it sounds, at least as long as you don't get hit. The game is certainly gripping and you will probbaly will lose yourself hours on end just exploring the gorgeous countryside and the forests looking for secrets and sidequests But all is not perfect, the leveling system is even more restrtictive than before, there are no passive talents like being able to deflect arrows, now every single talent must be equipped to have effect, and of course some talents require you to waste points in others you will never use to unlock, this is a terrible leveling system. White orchard, and Velen are absolutely gorgeaous and a treat to explore, but Skellige is utterly atrocious, so many points of interest in the water with boats that are made out of eggshells Even tho the game treats your relationship with Yen as something that should be pursued, the fact that I have not read the books renders that point moot, Triss has been there for me ever since the first game, no reason at all to choose Yennefer over her. And finally, Gwent, ugh, didn't enjoy it at all, didn't engage with it much and I would happily abandon those quests if I could. Overall the game is great, a must play even tho is not perfect, just get the mod to fast travel from anywhere and avoid being stranded in the middle of the sea by sirens.

The Witcher 3 is the most fun game I have ever played, and one of the two most important games in my mind. It's my soul, so I came specifically to download and support GOG. I have played it three or four times and now I have to play it every year or so. I can play until I die. I hope "Polish Donkey" can reset The Witcher One and Two, I hope the story of White Wolf Geralt doesn't end, and I hope the protagonist of Wizards Four is still Geralt. I don't know English, I rely entirely on machine translation. You and I had no fate, but we met here because of The Witcher 3

Yeah.. I am a bit late to the party, so what can I say... Get the complete edition (and some vacation). The story and the characters will suck you into the world of strange creatures and monsters, both human and non-human. Your decicisions will have unforeseen consequences. The world is visually stunning, but dark and you can do only so much to make a difference. Also, do not skip Gwent, in the end I loved it (although normally I hate card games with a passion).

The witcher have everything great rpg should have: good story, music, mechanics, side quests etc.

The jump in quality between each witcher game is crazy. I played the second game in like 2013 and really liked it, got super hyped for 3, but couldn't play it until recently and decided to just play through the whole trilogy. I don't regret it at all, there's a charm to the witcher games, regardless of the problems each game has.
