Very pretty game ruined by the ending

It is very pretty, the characters are very charming, and the backgrounds are sometimes outright georgeus. Unfortunately the puzzles can be kind of frustrating, a lot of the soulutions are pointlessly contrived. They're very inconsistent. I would have forgiven that if the ending wasn't absolutely trite, the most obvious undeservedly sentimental cliche they could have used, which ends up undermining all the themes that were established beforehand. Those weren't anything revolutionary, but resonant enough, but apparently I was a wrong for expecting a resonant thematically coherrent experience. So unfortunately all thats left are the moments of frustration, and not the moments of beauty, because the game thought those didn't mean anything anyway.

Amazing

Great graphics and music (my favorite thing in the game), and loved the puzzles (a couple of them were a nice challenge). It' s hard to get the logic of the puzzles at first, but all of them follow a similar logic. The story is really nice, with a twist on the "I have to save the world" thing. Seems like everybody hates the voice acting, but I loved Sadwick' s "annoying" voice. We keep imitating him at home, haha.

A beautiful game with flaws

The Art is good, puzzles are challanging, and chapter 2 is perhaps one of the best segments in any Point & Click. The only thing that could've been improved is the voice acting.

A good game, but only for enthusiasts

The biggest issue in this game (for neophytes) is that clues and hotspots are occasionally indistinguishable from mere beatiful background art. This leads to unfortunate pixel hunting because games gives you few hints and focus more on exploration and trial and error, wich lead to some scratching head points were you don't know what it's missing. Shame cause most of the time, Dedealic has done a great job to create a good solving clue for most of the puzzles. Graphically it's a deteailed, colorful, exaggerated, and wonderfully nuanced world in a great hand-drawn style and animation. The animated cutscenes are less impressive, but well executed. Great OST, wich set the right mood for every moment of this adventure, assisted by great ambient noise. The voice acting is less consistent in quality, expecially with Sadwick, wich anyway grows with the game: the more he advance in the story, is personality comes out loud and clear giving him a more unique one. His darker moments manage to be both hilarious and tragicomical. But let's be honest, it's pretty difficolt write well a fatalistic cynical child in such a realistic way. All other voices are well done and defined, wich serves most of the time as a functional puzzle solving veichle or characteristic gags. Overall dialogues are entertaining enough. The use of Spot as co-protagonist is simply brillant (expecially in one long puzzle), a beautiful active sidekick wich is integrant part of the adventure. His shapeform abilities are essential to solve many puzzles. Each transformation has his unique hilarious animated sequence. Story writing is really amusing, mixing comedy, tragic and seriousness. And i love how the ending is not a superficial cliché. Can't tell more or it became a spoiler. PS. last advice, better watch ending credits too, they'll add an additional point of view for many charatchers.

Beautiful and Puzzling

TWW is a touching and beautifully put together story about a boy who... well, you'll find out. Gorgeous art and a vibrant, imaginative world really drew me in, so that I still think back to the game years after playing it. I enjoyed the voice acting, even Sadwick's voice, which many lament as annoying; I found it to be hilarious! I will concede that the puzzles are difficult and often illogical, but I suppose I expect a degree of that in point-and-click adventure games, and using a walkthrough, as a consequence, doesn't bother me much. It was the story and the characters, the incredible world they inhabit, and the haunting music (the music!) that kept me playing. Truly beautiful!
