WALK IN THE LIGHT
ITS A FUN first person shooter with spells story is ok the graphics are dated but if you are on good old games i do not think you will mind but multi player is were the game shines

Quake ... or maybe Unreal with Spells?
I'm surprised I never heard of this game. Its a very fun boomer shooter with magic spells replacing guns. I usually fall off magic based FPS games (I love Amid Evil but never seem to be able to finish it...) but the story made me want to progress and see what happens next. Spells require single use artifacts for each use, which feels a bit odd for a fantasy game, but works as an FPS, and encourages exploration. I've always had enough artifacts to get by but never felt like I had an excess, so finding powerful spells was always rewarding. Combat itself is pretty good, but not perfect. Melee enemies can catch up to you really fast, which can make the many AoE spells dangerous to you, and once they are in range to hit you, it's near impossible to get out of their range without killing them. Fighting magic users is fun, playing much like a quake rocket launcher duel, though it can be annoying when they activate shields, forcing you to just wait it out for a bit. It is a bit strange that the tutorial covers tower defence elements that never actually get used in the single player campaign, might be a multiplayer feature, Overall, its a great game, with a decent enough story and pretty good cutscenes (if you can ignore those distracting hands). Makes me want to check out the Amazon series so the re-release might have done its job

Only enjoyable if aided by nostalgia
Interesting game concept: a shooter with magic instead of guns. Also, there's trap-room tower defense levels. Unfortunately, the game has aged pretty badly. The game would be enjoyable if not for several poor design choises that add up to make it outright annoying for me: - Everything moves fast, but your spells don't. Some enemies have insta-dodges. Get used to missing your target frequently. - More powerful magic is usually stuck with low velocity and can't be used at close range due to splash damage, so it ends up being rarely useful. - Health drains really fast, so be prepared for unexpeted deaths even if you have full health and shield. - Frequent encounters with fog snake enemies that creep up on you from behind, above or through walls. They are hard to hit without hurting yourself, drain your health in no time flat and seem to respawn mere seconds after being fought off. No, just No on this one. - Escort mission through all of the stuff above. Yeah, this is the point when I uninstalled the game. Someone who remembers the game fondly or has a lot more patience than me (or a less absurdly mountainous pile of shame ahead of them) could find enjoyment in this game. I didn't. At all. I don't usually abandon games, especially short ones like this, but this one made me quit. The payoff is not worth the hassle for me.

The Wheel Turns Ages will Come and Go
This is actually a cool game, for anyone who likes the Wheel of time Universe and the only game I think. You get to play as an agile, smart and versatile Aes Sedai who unfortunately cannot channel the One Power. Still, the game revolves around using Ter'angreals as weapons, each with unique abilities. (offensive, defensive, healing and so on). This gives a whole new dimension with so many possible ways to use them in various situations to get through the linear levels. The story although vast in the books, still underlines the main issues, and gives the player enough information to work with. Music and sound effects are impressive. Voice acting is pretty good. Graphics, I mean you cannot complain, it still looks decent for a game from 1999. Totally worth checking it out.

This game is a masterpiece!
This is a masterpiece! The RAT enemies are like a darker, scarier, more violent version than the enemies in vermintide. This game has great map design. the levels have rivers in them that you can fall in and get carried back to different parts of the level. Its simply genius. Within the first 5 minutes i got hit by a fireball and faceplanted to the floor in my beutiful dress as the camera switched to third person to show me my dead body. It was so epic. Serious nightmare creature vibes from that! However i REALLY wish gog gave players the option to download the game RETAIL without all of gogs adjustments, i love gog more than steam nowadays but I dont like how gog assumes people want to play ancient games in fullscreen, they look like trash that way, they just arent detailed enough to be played in fullscreen they lose their charm. Even with a proper FOV (widescreen fixes) i still believe people are doing these old games dirty by playing them in fullscreen. The moment i put them into windowed mode they come alive. Any old game you play in a window is now using windows default correct color profile and 32bit colors so a lot of these old games just look way more clear and correct in windowed mode. Check out my youtube channel randalmcdaniel i play all sorts of old games in windowed mode Fullscreen WITH black bars is also bad because it STILL stretches the image. Thats why old games never look crisp or HD in fullscreen mode with black bars. You can screenshot compare if you dont believe me. 1280x960 in fullscreen is a 12% larger game than 1280x960 in a window.. Why? I HAVE NO CLUE. Try it if you dont believe me
