3/5 Cybersouls
after finishing the main campaing and the dlc I can say the game is not bad, but there are some things that really needed more work Graphics and sound desing are nice, definetively a good experience in those fronts The story is ambiguous and makes you question the PC's reality, so it's ok, I guess Combat requires you to learn attack patterns, which is pretty standard in "souls" games, but what really bothers me is that enemies track you in the middle of their attacks, most enemies are small enough to dodge out of the way, but the bulky ones you'll encounter in the final part or the game and the bosses are a nightmare. The first boss is likely the hardest in the game, you got little in the means of gear and it is a gigantic mecha that you can't even see very well due to the camera angle, so it takes a while to learn its patterns, but then he turns around ridiculously fast, and in 2 frames this giant mecha turns around and beats you to a pulp, I don't blame anyone for giving up on this game just because of this boss, it took me like 20 tries to down it, for reference, the last boss of the game only took me 2 tries The grind is pretty severe, since armor really does little to protect you (2 maxed out sets with 20 armor difference only made like 5 points of damage reduction, jack sh** when you are taking hits that count on the hundreds) so your best bet is to stack health/stamina implants, and those need power which can only be gained by leveling up, and leveling up is a slow a painful process, which leads me to my final complaint: remember how you have to travel back to recover your souls in DS? well, in this game you not only have to make the perilous journey with respawning enemies, you also have a time limit My final assesment: the game is not fun, these types of games are not meant to be, they are punishing and brutal, but the trick is to find the right balance, but cheating enemy movement and annoying progression robbed this game of its greatness

Combat feels very robust
I got the augmented edition on sale yesterday and I'm really liking it so far. I'm not one of those hard core dark souls experts but I do like those games and I found the combat in this game really good, adding some interesting innovations such as targeting parts and decapitating parts for your own usage. While not as atmospheric as the souls i'm nonetheless finding the setting and the plot here quite interesting. Looking forward to playing some more, I feel i got a real bargain!

Cyberpunk-Souls Like
There is a special place in my heart for Dark Souls and the Cyberpunk subgenre of science fiction. So when Deck 13 decided to take the two and a make peanut butter and chocolate mix, I was curious. As I'm nearing the end of the game, I feel like they've done a fantastic job of telling a unique story while creating an interesting spin on the Souls experience with the way you grind out crafting items to build weapons and armor through the use of targetted body parts. This spin creates a fun end game grind, do I continue targetting arms so I can get what I need create the new armor I got from a schematic or do I go for the creamy nuget head for a quick kill? The spin on dying is also unique for a Souls-like, do you continue to keep maiming for tech (The Surge's "souls" currency") and build a big multiplier? Or do you bank your tech so you don't lose it from dying? If you're looking for a solid Cyberpunk Souls-like, this is going to be your jam. Bonus for making the game awesome on Keyboard and Mouse.
