Recommended
I'd never even heard of this game before. I took a chance and was rewarded with a gorgeously presented and very engaging point and click adventure. Writing and visual design are strong, as is the voice acting. There are a couple of very tricky puzzles and the game's wacky humor requires some creative thinking at times. I will definitely be replaying this game in the future.

Most dis... concerting
What an excellent point and click surprise. My expectations were rather low, and I ended up enjoying it like I haven't enjoyed a game of this kind in a long time. It's quirky and zany, but in a way that is not random at all, as a lot of thought and creativity has clearly gone into the script, the unconventional narrative, the realization of the game world and all the little details. The last act loses a lot of steam, as scenarios are skimped out on, and events are abbreviated in a rather abrupt way, but it still makes for a satisfying narrative experience, if a bit on the short side. Both main characters are sympathetic and fully realized, even if one of them is just a well done "jerk with a soft spot", and the NPCs are no slouches either, with some genuinely funny bits spread throughout. With great sound design, beautiful graphics (with the odd glitch here and there and a weird flickering in moving characters when the background moves), a (maybe overly) simple interface and (at times a little too) easy puzzles, this is a a done-in-one gaming experience for some good, hearty chuckles. Highly recommended.

Annoying characters, bad sound quality
I didn't stand more than 20 minutes of this - sound quality of the voices are very bad! Harsh and distorted, not pleasant to listen to. And the main characters are very annoying, don't make me want to spend hours exploring this story. Just my take on it, after 20 minutes - glad most others seem to enjoy it though.

Really enjoyed this, does original proud
Length=Leaves you wanting more but not disappointed I played the original Hollywood monsters before starting this. The original was a great game in its own right but extremely flawed. It did many horrible adventure game sins. (This isn't review about the original but) Pixel hunting, navigating to rooms that you don't even know where to click on the screen to get to, (logical once you read the solution) but non-intuitive puzzles that made it seem impossible, sometimes nonsensical puzzles, objects that are basically hidden objects ... Despite all its flaws, the original was a game I'd play again, even recommend it. I'd also be frank that a walkthrough is not shameful to get through the original. Most its puzzles aren't "wtf" but you ask yourself, why would I ever think of this? How many hours would I need to sit here, weeks, months before I thought of it? There's a globe puzzle that's pretty logical but terrible. This game occasionally has very familiar puzzles but done better. I had no problem solving the more challenging puzzles, especially ones familiar to the original. Even if you get stuck in this one, it's got a hint system. This game can offer you a challenge, without frustrating you as long as you understand it's more challenging puzzles. I almost got frustrated once, but then I was like...OOHHH, I get it... I didn't use hints for any of the more challenging puzzles. I did get stuck a few times, but it was ironically over something stupid, and I progressed after the first hint. I was never hopelessly lost. The game challenges you without insulting you but it also wants you to have fun, some puzzles are super easy, it balances out with the harder ones. It's awesome to see reoccurring characters. It was a good ending. It did the characters justice. I cared about the cast and their personalities, great original and inspired. It emotes well and just enough. Humor is done well. It leaves you wanting more like the classics, like Day of the Tentacle.
