Tetrobot and Co.

I thought the graphics and gameplay were very well done in this game, but the puzzles were incredibly difficult. It started out rather easy, but very quickly became impossibly hard. Normally I like it when puzzle games ease you into the more difficult levels by throwing in a challenge here and there, but this game became too hard too fast. I ended up giving up after the 2nd round of levels (Levels 2/1 - 2/6). This game had the potential for a five star review, but they lost a star due to the game's difficulty. There's a big difference between a challenge, and wanting to throw your computer out the window in frustration. I don't know if it's the game, or perhaps I just need anger management classes.

Tetrobot and Co. is a simple but concept. You control Psycobot, a microbot that fixes robots from the inside. You navigate the levels using only your mouse, collecting blocks and solving puzzles. New mechanics are introduced in a very intuitive way, with absolutely no text, to the developers merit. It's very easy to get into, but some of the puzzles are quite challenging. It gets a nice balance going, managing to keep your interest all the way to the end. The graphics are simplistic but they get the job done, and the music is really catchy. Unfortunately, the overall result is tainted with the presence of bugs, and taking into acount this game was released in 2013 it doesn't seem the developers intend to fix them. The most serious of them all is when throwing blocks. When using them in certain situations more often than not they outright disappear, forcing you to use the rewind feature (usually more than once) so they reappear in your inventory. I actually had to restart a whole level once to see if I could fix it that way (fortunately it did). Seeing as the whole game revolves around this mechanic it baffles me the developers could release the game with such an annoying bug. Another less but still annoying issue is that, when you click on a spot to move, Psycobot tries to take the shortest route, but sometimes the game tries to take you through inaccesible paths, forcing you to take the extra clicks to get there. Not so serious as the last one, but near the end the waste of time can be noticeable. In conclusion, this is a 5 star game ruined by the lack of polish. If you like puzzle games this is definitely a good one to get on a sale, but be prepared to deal with the bugs. For me it was worth it, but you may not want to deal with them.

I'm not usually into these kinds of puzzle games, but this came up on the last Insomnia sale and I thought I'd give it a whirl. This turned out to be a great game! The puzzles were challenging (even for a hard-core adventure gamer like me). The "story" was pretty weak, but it didn't matter--I was having too much fun trying to sort out the puzzles. I occasionally had to seek help online when I got stuck, but I played this game for hours and hours and never got bored.

You are a very small robot which has to repair the internals of some bigger robots, which has each a different functionality like working in water, goo, . . . environments. The blocks you find are made of different materials and matching characteristics. You can pick them up, launch them to stick to matching blocks, open doors, switch levers, build patterns, block deadly devices, charge them and use them to charge other devices, ... Find the exit at each level and the 3 parts of a memory card while solving puzzles to fix each robot step by step. Pros: - To the point graphics - Fun logical puzzles with some real brainteaser to get some memory cards - Different environments, materials & their effects to use to your advantage: Water, Sticky goo, Metal, Wood, Ice, Clouds, . . . - Recall button to go back x times before you screwed it - Nice & functional music Cons: - A minor bug that let a launched block disappear. Press the recall button till when you took the block or entered the screen to solve it. I enjoyed it very much and much, much more than it's predecessor. A refreshing first class puzzler with a minor flaw. Really recommended.

First of all, without the bugs, I would have given 5 stars! I think the creators of this game are very intelligent! The puzzles are very well crafted. However Is it really bad that many time when we click the undo button, we lose the blocks or anything. Many bugs related to the undo feature. So any time you do a mistake, you cannot really use the undo feature, then, you need to restart completely the level. I cannot believe a wonderful game like that still contains such evident bugs. The bug are easy the reproduce. I am a programmer and can tell that when a bug is easy to reproduce, it is easy to fix. So why it is not fixed ? As I said at the beginning, those people are really intelligent !!! So, why intelligent peoples don't fix easy bugs ?
