Game is Okay.....

Playing both previous titles , which I really liked how those games immersed you in that world of Siberia and the quirkiness and oddball things that happen and you do. This game does have some unusual stuff and things but its not as near as captivating as the other two games, just seems like there is something missing, or maybe its the camera angles i cant place it. Controls are Decent I've seen worse , its a bit clunky at times, ive had to switch from keyboard to controller sometimes to get things done. Visually its great aside from some camera angles . Voicing doesn't match the characters talking most times which is kinda weird to me when you see a 90 year old sound like a 20 year old or younger. I didn't play it all the way through yet . I Had an issue at a certain point (3/4 of the way through) where my game could not progress due to a bug, but GOG quickly fixed that , i just haven't had the urge to play it again yet after the fix. Graphics are okay, and the story seems to be lacking much, if you still like Adventure type games like Syberia or have played the other 2 , it doesn't hurt to pick it up when its on sale.

Dissappointing

I really enjoyed 1 and 2 and expected so much more from Syberia 3. The game controls were different from the onset and then modified to appease loyal user complaints but didn't really work. To go from point and click, to using keyboard arrow keys seems to be a step backwards not forwards. You can't run around and explore and randomly come across things since you need to have done this before it will let you do that type thing. Some of the puzzles are so obscure you have to have the walk-through to move forwards. You cant click through dialog to speed it up, nor click out of cut scenes like you could in the other 2. The story line has so much potential and I feel like they just left you hanging. The Youkel temple chapter was a nightmare. I kept getting lost and couldn't find a way back to where i needed to be so had to restart the game. Its now an autosave and not from where you quit but from beginning of that chapter so a lot of do-overs. I had got out of these type games due to work etc but isolation gave me time to do other things. i really do not feel like this money was well spent. Wish I had skipped it and bought 3 or 4 cheaper games.

Should you buy it?

If you haven't played and enjoyed Syberia 1 and 2 then NO. If you have played and enjoyed Syberia 1 and 2 and Gog offers you a decent discount then MAYBE. You'll have to put up with a buggy game and a poor user interface and a poor game save mechanic. Browse the Internet forums to see what I mean. If you can put up with these problems then this is another Syberia game and it's not too bad. Not the greatest but enjoyment can still be had out of the continuing adventures of Kate Walker. Hint: If your gameplay is too dark then adjust the gamma of the screen. If you have a Nvidia card this is in the Nvidia Control Panel.

unnplayable controls

it really is a 4 star game for the graphical art style and the very good musical score but the controls.. god. Ive had this game in my library for well over a yr now as im a huge fan of the series but heard that it was crap to play. Finally broke it out thinking perhaps the reviews were a bit over done so soon after release and the subsequent hype and disappointment. They were right. I cant even get thru the opening tutorial area as my char cant get out of rooms, boinks into walls and the camera is pointing all over the place except where I want to look. Mini games are a huge chore because of wonky targeting and overly complicated camera angles. I have spent more time on working with the interface than playing the game and whatever excitment gained by playing the intro cinematics and music is long gone. what is left is a huge feeling of disappointment, irritation and absolute confusion on why they ruined their own game by instituting such a complicated, perverse camera and control system. uninstalling. thank the stars i got it on super duper deep sale.

A good game, but with slopy controls

It is quite a nice adventure, without shooting and excess violence. Resembles first 2 games, but style is completely new as it is not 2d adventure. 3d engine shift makes its problems in controlling an viewing character but mostly it serves its purpose. I would give it 3 stars but those tiny Yukols are really sweet and their ways are interesting.
