Forever in love

Of course, the second work of Love In Space would have problems. Great, mostly perfect turn-based strategy has bugs because of the old RenPy, also balance is not perfect. But do I mind it replaying game many times? What is much more important for visual novel is the narrative (and some CGs ofc). Here is something Sunrider hit me right in my heart, it's not just about cute waifus, it's a huge space opera that made me laugh and cry. Also the Liberation Day has higher quality in everything, but it's really important to play the Mask of Arcadius first, so just try it, it's free and maybe you would be next to join our great community.

I really liked it

This is the best free game I have played bar none: nice story, engaging gameplay (if you like this type) and wonderful art. But the default combat difficulty should have been ensign instead of captain.

A great space VN series

To me, It's the best sci-fi space visual novel series I've ever read. (Besides Stein's gate.) Also the strategic battles are a blast. I have all three of the Sunrider series but not from GOG. The best part is the one-liners the girls say in battle. Especially Asaga's "Fly my children!" The series is full of memorable characters and the entire series is full of plot twists. Mask of Arcadius and Liberation Day are the only two that carry the main story though.

Good first impression, grows old quickly

When a game's trailer shows nothing but the sexuality of its characters, you must suspect that it has nothing to offer. Indeed, its gameplay is brutally difficult and so lackluster that a tier-1 difficulty level allows you to skip it altogether. There is nothing awesome about CSS Sunrider. The story is a catastrophe. It serves only to diminish the player's victory by painting it as a canonical defeat. This is story is a ripoff of thousands of other works. The red-loving People's Alliance for Common Treatment is derived from Communism. The Alliance is the ultranationalist republican. Have you noticed how CSS Sunrider resembles Space Battleship Yamato? The literary value of the story is extremely low. This story starts with genocide on the protagonist's planet. The same thing happens in the universally acclaimed video game Homeworld. But while Homeworld took this plotline and made a masterpiece out of it, this game forgot its poignance. Instead, to add poignance to the story, they added a planet called Ongess, the story of which suffers from the poorest penmanship. To wit, Fontana is ordered to *destroy* Sunrider on Ongess. Instead, his mission was to launch a raid on Ongess's fuel supply. To that end, he *bypassed* Sunrider after a brief skirmish. All text in this game needs copyediting. For example, what's Bianca? (I suspect it is the old name of the Liberty mech unit.) As another example, when Asaga comes aboard, she asks "Am I going to be groped by that mean lady?" To which Ava angrily replies, "L-Lady?" It seems a Bushism has happened here. She must have said "G-Groped!?" or "M-Mean!?"

Очень сыро

Эх, игра довольно неплохая, мне понравилась. И захотелось даже купить вторую часть. Не люблю VN, но добавление элементов пошаговой стратегии сказалось на геймплее положительно. Имеется не самый плохой сюжет, бои достаточно сложные. В чём же загвоздка? 1. Баги. Оооо, как же мне хотелось удалить эту игру, когда я в очередной раз попадал на зацикленную ошибку и мне приходилось искать старое сохранение, чтоб проходить с того сохранения до нынешнего момента заново! Да и с сохранениями беда, хочешь его загрузить, а вместо этого перезаписываешь. Ничего страшного, начнёшь с начала! 2. Лаги. Не смотря на то, что игра графически не далеко ушла от презентации в PowerPaint, она умудряется жёстко тормозить даже на топовом железе! Серьёзно, как может пошаговая двухмерная игра со спрайтовой графикой так тормозить на ПК с характеристиками i7-3770, 16GB RAM, GeForce 970? Спросите у создателей Sunrider. Ну и другие неприятные, но терпимые, мелочи, вроде криво работающего пропуска текста. И, в общем, глядя на такую халтуру, терзают сомнения о покупке. Мне интересно, что будет дальше, но я не хочу опять терпеть сырой продукт, но теперь уже за деньги. Поэтому игру не советую. P.S. Но вторую часть всё же купил и прошёл. Там, кстати, многие косяки исправили.
