Great story, very engaging
Loved the game! The voice acting is incredible! The story is compelling, and the characters are so well written. It really makes you want to commit to your choices.

never liked musicals
Hey i love this game, and i have been playing for like four hours or less. Never liked musicals that much, like its a little uncomfortable how everyone is singing all the time, but i like historys! and i very much like mythology! so this one seemed fine... but boy, oh boy, 'm in love with ever-fucking-thing in this game

Just what the doctor ordered
When it comes to storytelling, I like a story that makes me feel good, with relatable characters and a good conclusion. I don't want a story that tells me everything is bad and there's no good choice. Stray Gods is a story that I like. The characters aren't always nice and don't always do the best thing, but they're sympathetic and relatable. It's basically a visual novel. It's navigated mainly by dialogue choices and song direction choices. The choices often feel like they matter, although I can't say if that's really the case. Does the game steer you in the same direction regardless? There was one place where I felt that I made wrong choices, and another character stepped in to save me. Although not a real "roleplaying" game as gamers understand it, the dialogue options do reflect a choice of character, and there are also traits that can be picked from and affect what options are available. In the end, I did feel like my choices mattered, even if I won't try another path to verify if that's the case. The songs are integrated well into the story and I never found them grating, although I also rarely found them exciting. The performances are good. I certainly enjoyed this aspect, and I think it added a lot to the presentation. There are some minor technical issues. I had one crash during gameplay, and at times some of the sound was cut off. At the end one song part for a specific character didn't play at all, with the background voices still playing and the lyrics still showing (luckily). Selecting choices (such as on the map screen) was also not always trivial, at least when playing with a d-pad. There were also a few continuity problems, mainly characters reacting as if they'd been told something that they hadn't. Lastly, although it's possible to change the size of the subtitles, which was helpful on the 6" screen of my GPD Win 4, the choice text during songs remained small. Still, none of these niggles detract from what is a strong and well made game.

It's Amazing!
I am only about halfway through it, but the writing and characterizations are wonderful. David Gaider and the rest of the writers have outdone themselves with this. I have been on the edge of tears several times already, which is not bad at all!

Wonderfully crafted. Some parts and songs felt a little simple but there were some that I really enjoyed!
