Finally here
As the kids say: instabuy I already have the older WW1 title but this one is an improvement in every way. The developers also care for their titles so good support is guaranteed. I can’t ask for more. The forum here on GOG isn’t that active so head over to Matrix Games for questions or for downloading mods.

No the price is not ridiculous
The new era of Strategic command games consistently take flak in GOG reviews. These are all high end strategy games well worth the money. Each one is quite unique, not tailored to the masses, yet all fill a niche that is completely untouched by other modern products. Do you want to play a great WW1 Grand Strategy game that is accessible yet deep and engaging? This is damn near the only one. So well worth the price. If you are interested in WW1 you will spend a dollar an hour at most... I am guessing it may come out to 10 cents an hour given the quality of the game. I'd never give a review on price in general, but this series gets unfairly blasted over and over again. Do a bit of research, then jump in head first and have a blast!

Good game, but ...
I like the game and most of its concepts. But what costs 2 stars in the end was, that the AI cheats. The AI gets more units. This destroys the point of playing the campaign on both sides to see if you could do better on the opposing side. But all the time you have to face superior numbers.. that costs 2 stars for me.

great WWI game
A great game. Many different strategies that can be tried, so it doesn't get tedious or repetative. Too bad there aren't more good WWI games.

Decent Strategy Title
Approved for hardcore strategy players. Decent AI - takes a while to find its flaws, good challenge even on medium difficulty. And it does a good work of simulating the grinding trench war, where advancing just a few hexes may take forever... I am pretty absorbed with every turn. It is a bid hypnotic to watch through the enemy turn waiting to try to get forward. It had a good balance. While France was about to fall - so was the Osman Empire almost at the same time. So it was kind a race and very interesting to play. But pretty sure not for everyone... A game takes like 3 days full time playing.
