Perfect for relaxing gaming after work

You liked Harvest Moon on GB/GBC ? Then you will love Stardew Valley! It has a lot to offer for those, who like to build their own farm in their own pace. There are a lot of characters, animals, sidequests, events and cutscenes. And especially for the still incoming (free!) content updates it never gets boring. At start you can choose if you want to play als a man or woman and you can choose the "farm style" (Classic, more river-based, more wood-based etc.) Heck, there's even a big Stardew Valley Wiki in the internet, where you can look everything up and you can mod the game by yourself if you want to. You can also see that the pixel art and the graphics in general were made with love and so much detail - so if you love those kind of graphics, this game is perfect :) Personally, the game has a great value for a relatively low price :)

I only came back because it's in gog

+285 hours played on Nintendo Switch are not enough. Lost my console and save files. I want this wonderful game to be mine forever.

Stardew Valley - Fun and new with RNG!

I saw this game a few years ago, and I was dying to get it. I downloaded it, and looking back now, I've already got 400 hours in. I love this game, and I love everything about it. ConcernedApe (the developer) is amazing and loves to interract with the community. Learning that he made this game alone makes this all the more astounding. The detail is incredible, the lore makes the game more complete and its just all around great. The mechanics are easy to follow and the huge community make mods a way to refresh the game just when you think you're getting bored. The Stardew Valley Wiki has amazing references and help. Love this game and always will.

Simply amazing

Great game, great dev. I own this game on virtually every platform possible and spent hundreds of hours playing. A perfect blend of farming sim and life/dating sim with a good bit of fighting, mining, fishing and foraging, very relaxing solo and engaging in multiplayer.

Obnoxiously Addictive

I have never played a Harvest Moon game, that is what I hear this most commonly compared to, so I am unsure if they're similar. What I do know to compare it to is Farmville except it has all of the good things of Farmville, none of the bad, and a metric shittonne of amazing features and activities added. You start out as a corporate drone living your life in a small cubicle and feeling the life and happiness drained from you every day. Once you get to your farm it is completely overgrown and you have to take it back from the wilderness (which takes quite a bit of time with tools that haven't been upgraded) in order to actually start planting your crops. Eventually you can make enough money to build spaces for livestock and make even more money. Even though you can make 20k gold at a time during the second year it goes out just as fast as it came in (I am part way through my second year and still have yet to keep my money for any amount of time and haven't even gotten into livestock yet!). There are also caves to explore, mine ore and precious stones, and fight monsters (the slimes look just like the Dragon Quest slimes) while trying to find your way to the bottom. There are also plenty of townspeople to become friends with and some singles to make your spouse. Overall the game is simply outstanding! The ONLY other game that has kept my attention for this long (where I know it is 2 A.M. but I have to play one more day) is Civilization. The upside is that it has many many more things to do than Civ and many more ways to make gold that just farm crops or tend to livestock. This game is my GOTY, it is one of the most fun games I have played in the last year and keeps my attention like Morrowind (even after all of these years) because I know there is so much more to experience and so much more to see and explore! Everyone who thinks this game might be fun just needs to go ahead and purchase it, you will not regret it!
