Terrible terrible game on PC.
Technical problems goes from the game not running if you download the .exe to even having camera problems all the time.
By the reviews, theres a high chance the game might not run for you and you will have to go through the technical support for your money back.
The game has aged but it has no support from GOG nor from Lucas Studios (now run by Disney).
Avoid this at all cost.
First of all, my opinion about this game very biased. When I was a young, I played this game like crazy on my computer. I remember to find this game on of the most exited games of all. I was really thrilled that the game came to GOG.
Now the game is finally on GOG, and I was able to rivive some good memories. The game still looks good and I plays well, though the gameplay may feel some slugish for the new player. The amount of fighters you can get is limited, but they do just fine. My favorite still is the X-Wing. The missions are very varied so each time you get a fresh new challenge. From the desert to a big city, it has everything. The sense of freedom is great and your fighter or bomber fly free through the sky. The only thing that still bothers me are the Walkers. Those things are sometimes hard to take down because of the controls and the camera angle, but it is a detail on a very good game. The new players may be shocked that there is no real explanation of the controls, but they soon get used to it when they start playing.
Now, the game still has some minor bugs concerning the camera angle thats sometimes stuck (at least with me) but overall, it is still one of the greatest games of my childhood and I can recommend it to everyone who whants to play a really fun and diverse flight-game from the 90's.
Absolutely stonking game, played this so much back in what I am astounded to discover was 1998!!! My goodness where has the time gone? I remember needing to buy a a brand new Voodoo graphics card especially to run this beast back then, good times. This gem hasn't changed at all though and as usual GOG have sorted this game right out and runs like a dream, my 360 pad just worked straight away, no fiddling or faff, just juicy rouge action. And the whole game only comes in at about 70MB, which is almost hilarious to think about. Great game. Do it!
I love everything Star Wars! I really enjoyed this game. It is full of action. I can not stand games that are full of blood and sexual themes. That just tells me the game is pathetic and the story lame. I have windows 8.1 and it ran just fine.
(I set the installer to use compatibility mode for Windows XP and to run as an administrator. My Windows 10 system installed it perfectly. I even cabled up my old FFB2 - and the game responds perfectly!) I don't think my GTX1070 even blinked haha, nice and smooth throughout. Wonderful audio and music, atmosphere, graphics still look good even though this is years old. It can be played with kbd+mouse but highly recommend joystick for the full experience. Games levels are spot on, using tow cables is still a pain in the neck - just how it should be! From start to finish, one of the great games out there. Ok, I'm the wrong side of 35 so perhaps it won't tick all the boxes for youngsters but for me, this is an epic nostalgia trip, thank you GoG.com.
