Fun Gameplay... Cool Story

I found Singularity to be very engaging as a story with some very fun weapons to play with, it reminded me more of Dead Space (weapons, upgrade stores) and Wolfenstein: Old Blood (graphics, story-mode) than Bioshock or Half-Life but I can see others seeing it that way too. Well worth playing when purchased on sale. The trick for full enjoyment (and getting your money's worth) is to fully immerse yourself in the story without taking the combat to seriously (enemies are pretty easy and weapons become over powered) and find clever/interesting ways to kill enemies (freezing and fire bombs my favorites) I did find myself looking in every nook and cranny for the power up$ more than I ever have in any other game. Now the bad... Auto-Save(s) and doors closing behind you, yeah that gets aggravating... the game is designed to encourage exploration (for rewards) but as your looking around you can get locked out of an area without the ability to go back and get what you missed and with only a single auto-save sometimes that is permanent. The best way to prevent that is to use the "ping" that is a part of your glove, to show you the path (glowing footsteps) you are supposed to take and make sure you follow that path last thus ensuring you get to explore entire areas before getting locked out. One last thing, the best guide in on GameSpot, search for it and refer to it when needed, your game play will make much more sense with maximum enjoy-ability.

Приятный классический шутер

Очень достойная игра от Raven, несправедливо забытыя. Несомненно у игры есть минусы, сейвы прямиком с консоли например, или паучки которые прям таки бесили, но полное прохождение оставляет приятный след в памяти, и стрельба и сюжет в этой игре на достойном уровне. Это несомненно отличная игра, которая почему то в своё время была закидана помидорами.

One of the Best

This game is incredibly good and I am disappointed not many people talk about it or even know about it. This games checks all the boxes for what makes a good game, what makes a good shooter, what makes a good puzzle game and what makes a good time-traveling game. Everything about this game is near-perfect. The graphics are very good for its time, the sound design is fantastic, the plot is very good, even if someone may say it's not original, the difficulty and the adrenaline of the game are top-notch. Some things are a bit off, like the two-weapon system, which I loathe in any game, and the chrono device thingy's skills are a bit slow to show up. The story, in the end, is very nice, but the ending has a specific limitation that disappointed me. I was expecting something to be available to you, but it isn't, and I don't want to spoil the endings, so let's just say it's missing one that could very well be there. This game should have had a sequel, but as it stands, it is very good on its own. A definitive must-buy.

Takes it's precious time

3,5/5 It's a good game. Not a great one, but very few are. It's hard but fair, the gunplay is good, and the puzzles are satisfying. It also makes you feel relative freedom to use your special abilites the way you see fit. First of all, yes, it is a bit pricey. I bought it at a sale though, so that's fine. Also, the game hints at a pretty ridiculous and over the top gameworld, yet it somehow mostly lacks humour and it is VERY narrow linear. Our gimmick-weapon does a LOT more than in Half life2 for exaple, but none of it's features are utilized to their full potential. But it takes a VERY long time to even get to it. the first few missions are just regular run'n'gun levels and they are a bore. Also, maybe it's just me, but after a while, most of the intrigue just wore off, and I had to realise that for most situations I HAVE to use certain assets - i had no legroom to play around. Making the upgrade system less than satisfying. Also, the puzzles are few, and they mostly just stops the game in it's pace, making it very uneven. All in all, a pretty good game, still miles ahead than most shooters nowadays, but as it is a mixed bag regardig its gameplay, it is also on regarding it's quality.

A perfect B-game

Through its glaring influences and lack of polish in places, Singularity manages to feel somewhat classy and its doesnt outstay its welcome. Games like these aged pretty well with their choice of engine, laser focus and plentiful carefully crafted vistas. It doesnt really put much of a challenge besides some annoying bugs in a cave, but meat do explode pretty good. It is kinda funny how much less tedious it manages to be than some of ravens less catastrophically developed work. Sometimes a good corridor shooter is all you need, expecially if you got the vibes.
