its hard to describe simcity 4 for me and why it is so good. the first time I played it I picked it up at a thrift store when I was a kid, I had played simcity 2000 before so I understood what it was and it hooked me in. Years later it still stands as one of if not the best city sim not in terms of technical or realism, but in what matters; an engaging gameplay loop that keeps you coming back for years to come. even to this day with the coutless other city sims with better graphics, better simulation capibilities, and so much more I find myself getting that itch to play this game and engage in its ever so enchanting gameplay loop and its dated but charming graphics. it just works in terms of jumping in and making a city and having fun or just relaxing and messing around. Its not a perfect game, but its as close as it gets.
