Produce shapes, consume shapes, profit?
Split, combine, paint, rotate overlay these are the operations that you will be performing on these four-quadrant shapes and form new shapes. Create modular designs and stack them to fill the conveyor belts with shapes. Addicting and challenging with its minimalist art style and intuitive controls it is a very easy game to pick up. This game lets you see all the numbers like rate of operation, belt capacity etc so you know exactly how many machines you will need to completely fill the conveyor belt. Producing just for the sake of producing with no downsides, no finite resources, just fill the conveyor belt and let the shapes flow hypnotically down the conveyors. Your goal is to create a given shape for it to reach the center where they will be counted up, until you reach the desired amount and then you receive a new challenge. Usually new shapes are based on (or at least aspects of) the previous shape so you only need to add a few steps to the pipeline to create the new one. The controls are very intuitive with the belts being very easy to set up and connect with adjacent machines. The copy+paste mechanism is a great feature. You only need to create an optimal machine once and then you can copy it again and again every time you need to perform that particular task. Only gripe is that some shapes are very complicated and very hard to get right, but that won't be an issue for quite some time after you start playing. You also might need to turn some visual settings off because the game tends to be laggy when there are a few too many shapes floating around. I enjoyed my time in shapez even though I did not reach the end of the progression and I urge anyone who likes factory-like games to give this one a go.
