Лучший КРУТОЙ СЕМ
Чуть медленно развивается в начале, но пушки, артефакты, моды, динамика, количество врагов, возможность держать в руках 2 разных оружия, уничтожение лучом смерти, 2-умя ядро пушками - это нечто) Музыка зашла на полную, есть пара небольших отклонений, но в целом 9 из 10. Графика для сема 8 из 10, но очень добротно, анимации от третьего лица уже столько не дашь, но впечатления от игры не портит. Геймплей 9 из 10, играть нереально приятно) Юморной сюжет на 8-9 по шкале серии и мега концовка - просто лучшая, что сам уровень, что видео. Оптимизация при таком кол-ве противников вполне сносная на 7-чку, но надо самому вручную менять много настроек, почему-то хороших автоконфигов нет. Резюмируя - лучшая часть серии, не смотря на выпиленные фишки с физикой вроде переворотов комнат и отсутствия египта :D Обилие противников и приятнейшая стрельба с модифицированных и двойных пушек со сносным для серии юморным сюжетом и грандиозным финалом - доволен на 100%, очень рад обновлению серии.

Not as fun as previous games
I played this a bit after mid 2021, from what I recall. It was patched well. SS4 is not bad. It looks pretty and it has its moments. Some areas are funner than others, but the open world aspect of it wasn't fun. It was boring, unfortunately. Open areas felt empty. Not much to do. It does feel soulless. Beginning maps were better than later maps. I didn't like the agenda they had to force upon us at one point when you get a sniper at a church. Sigh.. Disgusting and random. I was not expecting that in a game like this. Gunplay was great. Skill tree was great to have. But, overall gameplay and level design was not as fun as SS3, which I had played right before that. SS4 looks better, but isn't as fun. Still better than SS2. But, SS FE and SE are better than SS4 (not in every way but at least in fun factor, gameplay, and such). As for graphics and performance. I did have some issues but that was because of the settings I had chosen. The game has issues with which version of Graphics API you choose, and some other settings. The 1 star reviews for performance are uncalled for. They probably chose the wrong settings and had no idea that they needed to experiment (especially since Croteam always offers many settings and different API versions). You have to use what is best for your setup. I played this on my laptop with a 140w RTX 3070 and it was smooth around 90 avg FPS at near max settings. I reduced some settings and used the Graphics API relevant to my setup. There's one Graphics API that, even though would claim I was getting 140 avg FPS, it did not feel smooth. Something was wrong there. I think it was Vulkan. From what I recall, I might have stuck with DX11, but I unfortunately forgot. While the FPS was lower than Vulkan, it was smooth.

It's okay.
I frankly never expected anything more than pleasant mediocrity from Serious Sam. It's essentially a series consisting of the same extremely basic and dated design presented as a parody that stopped making sense over a decade ago. Very open spaces. Ridiculous recoilless weapons. Intense and frantic action. An astronomical body count. Bad jokes. You turn off your brain and drown any critical thinking on your part with the primal satisfaction of destroying thousands of enemies. That simple. And SS4 is exactly that. And nothing more than that. It's so bad it's good. Any illusion that previous titles were considerably better than this one is simply a stretch. The games never had interesting level design or presentation. And they always remained at the bottom of the barrel when it came to originality, polish and depth. If is worse than SS3, maybe it's because it's pretty much the same game and there hasn't been any substantial leap in quality. Neither visually nor mechanically. Under ideal conditions, it's still fun. And if you're mentally ill enough to laugh at these jokes, even better. In terms of performance, the game still doesn't run as smoothly as it should. Texture pop-ups are still constant and some framerate drops with explosions seem unavoidable (Or on purpose? I don't know at this point). There's nothing here that justifies how poorly the game can run at times. Serious Sam 4 is a excellent mediocre game. An unbalanced mess held together with silver tape and hot glue. It's only worth it if you can get a good discount and you feel like racking your brain with this videogaming equivalent of junk food.
