Original concept but no real challenge

You can find my Video Review here: https://youtu.be/PcNuqsuYODE There are many positive things on this game like the original game concept and story, good level design, interesting puzzles, beautiful graphics and music and solid control. However, there are also some negatives - the absence of living creatures, no real challenge which might be causing sneaking stereotype, hardware optimization and loading screens. The game is suitable for children and might develop their logical thinking. Pros: - game concept - story - level design - puzzles - graphics - soundtrack Cons: - empty world - no real challenge - hardware optimization - loading screens I am giving this nice game Thumbs Up and 7+ out of 10.

Enchanting

We're not amiss in labeling this as 'Ori-lite'. There's no combat, plenty of platforming and puzzle exploration in the style of Ori. I hear the complaints and I do agree - Seasons After Fall has its issues. But the issues did not dampen the delightful story, artwork, music for me not to recommend it.

Great relaxing Game with some flaws

I really enjoyed this game and I warmly recommend it to anyone who loves art and relaxing games. The animations and the art is just beautiful. I love the fox and exploring the world with him is fun and cute. The story of this game isn't epic but more of an fairytale, nice and rather harmless. The gameplay isn't hard, as I said, it's relaxing but some of the puzzles can be difficult. I would like to give that game five stars, but there are flaws wich frustrated me a lot. There's a puzzle where you have to place bugs in the right shape to continue and I had no clue what I was supposed to do. I looked it up online and solved it, but I wished the developers would have given a real hint. It seems to me like they could have added more hints or a map because sometimes I got lost or took a long time to look for something and the world is a little bit labyrinthine. But all things considered, I recommend this game. It's fun, beautiful and relaxing. I needed eight hours to finish.

Fun, but needs a map & better stats

3.5/5 stars A nonviolent platformer (though the story has death) with creative, challenging puzzles and, most of all, beautiful handpainted graphics. It's fun to switch between the four seasons, each of which gives different color to every level. Backgrounds have multiple layers that create a 3D effect as you run past, and immerse you in this beautiful nature world. The lighting is dynamic. Sometimes light sources & shadows will shift around on certain objects. A little too much running, but the game has a thoughtful mood to it, especially with the classy string quartet music. Your fox does jobs for mysterious entities. Their goals start out obscure, and as I learned their motives, I actually didn't feel like helping any of them. You just have to go along to finish the game, which is still fun to play... ...except there's no map. If metroidvania games had adequate or great maps back in the 90s, there's no reason this game shouldn't, especially with some levels being large & multi-story. And there's no function to immediately check how many collectibles you found & levels you've cleared to unlock extras & the true ending. Between this & the vague plot, often you're lost as to what to do & where to go, and must resort to tedious running around. This & the tough puzzles will make kids lose interest, despite the cute animals, but if you're older & you're willing to consult guides, you'll still have fun. Hope to see more games from this company.

Great potential, poor realisation

I was hoping for something different. I mean, the graphics and music are just as I thought - beautifull and mesmerising, but that's basically it. I didn't hope for anything more than walking simulator. I aimed for chilling, innocent story of a fox exploring magical world. But it's not it. It's story about some spirit, guided by some entity, which tells the spirit to possess an animal that the entity lured to it (and fox looks defenetely scared during the process). I mean, it doesn't feel right from the beginning. It could be pure and innocent or the opposite - dark and gloomy. But it isn't any of that, It's lukewarm. I'm disappointed, and the beautiful graphics didn't help me overcome the aftertaste of shady beginning.
