A fun little game, when it works
Before you play you need to install this patch. https://www.gog.com/forum/scarlet_hood_and_the_wicked_wood/demo_crash_after_company_logo It's a shame the company isn't supporting their game on all the platforms they're selling it on, but hey, this isn't about them, this is about the game. The art style is gorgeous, with appealing character designs and a charming colour palette. The story is a mix of wizard of Oz and Ground hog day with endearing characters, and three different endings dependent on your choices in the game. The meat of the game play is puzzle solving of satisfying difficulty, which you can solve some basic reasong or just good'ol brute force. It also features patroller and stalker enemies that you have to dodge/hide from respectively. This adds some variety for the point and click genre and also means you're not going to be bored travelling between areas. The only glaring black spots against the game is of course the aforementioned patch requirement to actually play it, two of the late game puzzles, which had incomprehensible soloutions and the voice acting is really bad (good thing it only lasts for 5 minutes in total). A charming experience that you should definitely give a chance.
