They've licked their wound, improved their techniques, and now they're back! The world's 15 fiercest warriors clang steel in a fast and furious fest of fencing festivties. Use new characters and new feints of Fury to hack, slice, dice and Julien fry your way to victory.
This is a fighting game released in 1994 that follows 15 samurais in their individual quests. The rage system, which was popular in the first game, has been further enhanced. Not only does attack power rise when the gauge is full, the player can also use a special technique that can break the opponent's weapon and force the opponent to fight unarmed. The game also allows for more movement techniques such as back-stepping, rushing forward, and ducking, allowing for even more strategies. A fun and important detail of this game is that one of the new characters, Cham Cham, was voiced by voice actress Reiko Chiba, who is an idol in the gaming community.

Why did they do this?
This is a great game, but pathetic port. I tried playing this game on two different laptops and a Z1 ROG Ally. This version of Samurai Shodown II not working on all my devices is completely inexcusable, despite it being cheap on GOG and especially considering the fact that it's a NEOGEO game. This version randomly speeds up when playing the game’s intro, which messes up the audio and forces it to "catch up", you can't map controls in the game like at all, and I can't even play it on full-screen. Imagine trying to play something like this on a PC handheld and the screen is tiny, but you can't change it to fit your preference. GOG is a great platform for preserving games on PC, but this is NOT the way to do it.

I didn't expect that.
Game speed tied to refresh rate but I'm using 144hz+ monitor. There's no graphic filters. Only support xbox compatible controller. (not support 8bitdo)

Not the best in the series, but good.
I spent countless hours playing the Samurai Shodown series in my teens. This isn't the best of them--that, in my opinion, is the third--but it's still very good. Tight controls, an expanded cast of characters over the first game, and an intelligent enemy AI are all reccomending features.
