Sam & Max Hit the Road

Like other reviewers state, this is one of the best LucasArts action games. Nothing compares to the late 90s as far as adventure games. You really have to think outside the box to solve some of the puzzles. I still remember how long it took me to figure out the puzzle about the sight-seeing binoculars. Anyways, the main reason for this posting is WHERE IS FULL THROTTLE???? All these other amazing games have been resurrected, but who doesn't love the dry humor and gritty story of FULL THROTTLE. GOG just released 3 of my 4 favorite games by LucasArts (Tie, X-Wing, Sam Max). Hopefully Full Throttle won't be far behind.

Still one of the best and funniest adventures I've ever played. I still have my boxed CD copy! Highly recommended to one and all.

The funniest game written as of 2014 (some may argue this but all will agree that it's very funny). The dialog is a riot. The voice acting is superb. It's a bit like watching a vintage cartoon today. The brilliant pixelated character animations still hold up, and the settings and backgrounds are always an eyeful. Gameplay and inventory management are breathtakingly simple. And then there are the minigames, at least one of which has become a classic reference (Wak-A-Rat). In short, Sam & Max Hit The Road may well be a perfect game. It doesn't waste any chances to be fun or funny, and it doesn't get a single thing wrong.

Sam & Max sits there at the top along with all the best adventures Lucasarts made in its prime, its zany original and funny with beautiful 2D comic art, definitely one of the best adventure games of all time Great to see this on GOG its about time we had more great Lucasarts adventures released im hoping one day to see the whole catalogue on here like Full Throttle day of the tentacle etc etc.

One of the few classic LucasArts adventure games that I really don't like. While the art and animation is spectacular, the whole mood of the game feels unpleasant to me. Everyone in this world is bizarrely aggressive and unlikeable and I don't click with the zany humour. The plot is a mess. But the game is completely ruined by the awful interface design introduced here. No verbs anymore, just awkward icons that you have to cycle through. No text hotspots or descriptions for things in the environment, making the world feel small and empty. No dialogue options, just unintuitive images with no indication of what they will make you say (rubber duck?), and unhelpful dialogue at that. Too many hidden exits to other areas that easy to miss. Incomprehensible puzzle logic because things have to be wacky here. I guess I just hold LucasArts to a higher standard than this. There's some nostalgia from playing it as a kid, but even back then I didn't entirely get on with it.
