Compatabile with Windows 7?

Iv'e played this game before and it's awesome. Awesome voice actors, great models, and terraforming way before its time. But does it work on Windows 7 32 or 64 bit? I can't seem to get an answer.

So good I bothered writing this review

I bought the original sacrifice on the disc, and it is still one of my favorite games.The game is only has ten levels, but there are five different paths that you can take for each level, with the option of switch your path before and sometimes during each new level, giving the game wonderful variety. The spells are interesting and can be both terribly impressive (being able to summon an actual tornado on top of your enemies) to being actually pretty funny (there is literally a spell that drops a cow on top of your enemies, it's a good spell to, you'll be using it more than a little). The characters can be both funny and menacing as well (Stratos, Charnel, James, Buta, the list goes on...) and the graphics are flush and vibrant. This game is filled with interesting and innovative game play mechanics (the titular sacrifices, the alters etc...) and I have literally, that is without exaggeration, played this game at least seven times to the end, and it still hasn't gotten old. If you have a few hours to kill and some money to spare, this is a game I can guarantee you won't regret buying.

Superb, unique, beautiful.

My favorite strategy game ever made. The graphics were and STILL are beautiful, and there are so many different paths to take. The possibilities and combinations of skills/units are endless, and each one of the Gods you can follow has their own unique, expertly voiced personality and agenda. Your choosing to work with one God could upset another deity, and they might not allow you to work with them in the future. Each mission you choose gives you a new skill and new unit types. It's a compelling system that rewards experimentation and begs for multiple playthroughs. In a sea of the same old top-down Starcraft/Warcraft/C&C formulas, Sacrifice did its own thing and re-imagined the RTS genre with finesse--yet it went largely under-appreciated in comparison. There is nothing about this game that doesn't feel like a labor of love. Every self-respecting PC gamer needs to own this game. There's nothing else like it.

A must for art lovers everywhere

This game comes from an era of great ambition in PC gaming, which was sadly undermined by the rise and rise of more simplistic console affairs. The Dungeon Keepers, Imperium Galacticas, and Battlezones all date from this gloried era of immersive Action-Strategy, which seems to have faded a little. This one combines the sense of power from a strategy game with the sense of chaos of an online shooter, and infuses it with the 'WTF' factor of suddenly being spun through the air by a giant tornado. In letting you do all these things, there are a few imperfections; I acknowledge some flaws in pathfinding for creatures, some oddities when encountering steep terrain, and skirmish AIs can be a bit rubbish on larger maps. However, I do not give 5 points to this lightly, taking into consideration the amount of time I have spent on this over the years (yes, I bought the original copy and it still works fine on XP to this day). There is also massive variety in gods, monsters, sending a divine 50ft cows flying into the sky to literally crush your enemies, and the best ever voice acting from a surprisingly star-studded cast (the god Stratos simply melts in your ears). Finally, while the graphics have dated a little, the DESIGNS of the creatures are second-to-none; in a world of much overplayed fantasy stereotypes, this game's takes on Trolls, Gnomes and Demons will leave you stunned, and asking why we have been so fixed on Tolkien's imagination for the last 50 years. Buy this NOW.

Truly Awesome!

From the time in gaming history when the FPS was king, Shiny Entertainment came out with something completely left-of-field in 'Sacrifice'. A Third-Person game, as opposed to First-person, where the importance was on creating creatures to do your dirty work, rather than arming yourself with a variety of things that go 'BANG', it was unique, and still is. There are a few drawbacks with the game (a purely linear level design chief among them), but the graphics are still simply stunning, even by today's standards. Hard to believe simply on that basis it's over 10 years old! Despite the drawbacks, it's definitely a keeper, and deserves to be played by everyone. A game that will hold it's own years into the future.
