Looks remarkably bad

I'm not really much of a graphics snob, but the game looked VERY rough on my PC. I tried to force antialiasing to improve things, but that caused other graphical issues. This game may be good, but even for a game that came out 10 years ago it looks all kinds of wrong; I don't know how to put it. I can play Knights of the Old Republic or Star Wars Battlefront 2, and they still look great to me; so I don't think the problem is just the games' age. It seems like a botched PC port. If you are a PC gamer that likes graphics options to tweak; or really any options at all, then this game will be a let down. It has only the most basic options; and the graphics options can't be changed in the game; there's a separate tool. Not a big deal really, but surprising. Also no antialiasing/anisotropic filtering as far as I can tell (at all); also motion blur is forced unless changed in a config file; why do most games do this? The game opens showing a nude stripper; which seems like a super lazy hook. I doubt there's a lot of substance if that's the first thing the player sees. The writing of the characters was so cheesy I got embarrassed and quit the game.

Budget AssCreed and just as mediocre.

Black&White style caught my eye back in the day, so it was finally time to check this game out, especially with so many positive reviews. Its alright. Mediocre. Not my cup of tea. The Saboteur feels like EA's budget response to Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed series. Game follows similar formula, albeit with a bit more of GTA instead of stabbing and swordfighting. I found game entertaining for an hour or two, but shallow gameplay, dumb story and not entertaining characters made me wish I bought it through steam so I could refund it. As it is I beated the game to completion doing all of the main content - Missions, Sidemissions, some open world activities. Luckily the game is fairly short (about 10 hours). However, if that type of open world title is something you fancy you should get a decent amount of enjoyment out of the Saboteur. It is not a bad game.

great game but...

I played this game about a decade ago and really loved it, its basically assassin creed gameplay with guns set in ww2, the atmosphere is great. Sadly this version on pc will simply not launch unless you edit the config.ini to force it into windowed mode. and playing on windowed mod even if its almost at the same borders of the screen is just annoying and distracting to me. would not recommend buying it unless you don't have any other platform you can get it on.

Painfully generic open world game

Stealth Stealth is really underdesigned, a very simple line of sight system. Game offers very few ways to sneak. The game punishes you for trying out something interesting and fresh by giving enemies an instant global alert button. "Reeeeeeee!" Enemies blow their whistle as soon as they see you. All enemies. If there are 2 or more enemies, you can't prevent an alarm. No exception, hilariously, even the blimps make a whistle sound. This is a very tedious mechanic, as it forces you to either run for miles or cimb a building. Climb In a good show of historical accuracy, climbing is painfully slow and consists of holding "up" and mashing "space". No, it doesn't even look pretty. Guns Very few, despite that most are just crap. Pistols more effective than rifles and machine guns. Shooting bland due to poor and simplistic enemy design. Interesting weapons locked behind challenges. "Challenges" Product of a sick mind. Feels like you're giving mouth-to-mouth CPR to a dead person, who you need to buy guns. Rarely interesting. Level design On global map, none to speak of. All buildings feel the same, blowing things up is the same every time. The copy-and-pasted nazi points even have the same patrol routes every time. In campaign, level designers could only focus on one thing at a time. So campaign levels end up being really linear and don't offer any depth. Not even for a third-person shooter. Destruction Copy-pasted nazi objects only. Can't launch a winged rocket from a rocket truck. Shells from turrets fly 10 meters then explode, unless fired at blimps. I would say that this game fails at being everything, but the fact is, it barely even tried. Obvious cash grab, millions of $ of wasted potential. 4, 5 star reviewers never played past intro at best, only watched the trailer at worst.

Game does not work

Buyer beware. The game will not work on Windows 8 or many other modern OS's. There is a patch reference somewhere in the discussion forums that *some* people have said works, but I have not had luck with it. It really is quite shameful that GoG mentions nothing about this, while happily selling the title. Unfortunately, this is not the only game for which this is true. GoG: You should be better than this. It's a matter of basic business ethics.
