RoboCop: Rogue City is a pitch-perfect throwback to the action movies of the ‘80s. It’s over-the-top violence with charm, largely well put together but rough on the edges. Most importantly, it's a fun way to spend time in a beloved fictional universe that doesn’t overstay its welcome. Blasting at goons as an unstoppable walking machine remains as extremely entertaining as it seemed on the big screen, thanks in part to an impressive commitment to capturing the look and feel of the original film. Mixing in elements like routine police work and side quests does a great job changing the pace, too. Even if it’s not the best example of visual fidelity, and prone to some bugs along the way, that love of RoboCop shines through. This is a solid B movie of a video game, which is exactly what the source material demands.

Even if Rogue City had started to rust a little towards the end of its lengthy campaign, its surprisingly in-depth shooting and roleplaying mechanics, love of the source material, and keen understanding of what makes RoboCop so great in the first place has made it one of the biggest surprises of 2023 for me. In a year full of absolute bangers, make sure you spend some time in Detroit.

This is not RoboCop!
This game's premise completely misses what RoboCop stands for. The whole point of RoboCop is that he stands for law and order against extreme, violent crime. He does not shoot to kill. He shoots with high precision to disable the perpetrators. He aims to clear each area with minimal casualties and damage to property. Did the makers of this game even watch RoboCop?

An absolute train wreck.
Wow, who's been reviewing this? There's bugs at every turn. After coversations, Robocop stands there and you (a second Robocop) runs around and completes the quest. At one time I had three Robocops on the map. Speaking of the map, it looks nothing like Detroit.... Where's the Renaissance Center? It doesn't look like anything really, just relentless piles of trash everywhere. It looks like a map design from 20 years ago. The conversations don't have much effect on gameplay, and they are tedious. Opening loot boxes gives you loot, which I'm pretty sure should allow you to improve your gun, if so, that's broken/missing/unimplemented. Finally, Robocop is supposed to interogate the Soot guy, and it bugged out. At this point the game is broke and I can't progress. I'm 7 hours into it. I liked it first few hours. But the more I played it, the less I liked it. I don't think this is a good game at any price. Once the Nostalga wears off, the fun grinds to a halt quickly.

Unplayable
Same bugs and crashes as with demo, no imporvements I like the demo up to the arcade then it just kept crashing Lowlevel fatal errors error goes like this pretty much I keep getting low level error with unreal engine Line 873 I also keep getting Fata Error crashes in background during game play randomly I updated Video card Drivers on 2/24/224 did not help.. so thats that so I had to do a refund I really kinda wanted to play this game through story.

Motion sickness and crashing issues
I tried to enjoy the game, but I could not play it longer than 20 minutes due to several crashes, and motion sickness from the head-bobbing.
