Get it on sale, It's worth it.
Takes some time to get off the ground, but It's a fun game and really nails the 80s aesthetic seen in the movies. I've got no regrets.

A Love Letter to Gen X and Millennials
If you grew up on the original 1987 film, stop what you are doing and buy this game. RoboCop: Rogue City is an absolute triumph of fan service and atmosphere, perfectly capturing the gritty, satirical, and hyper-violent spirit of Paul Verhoeven’s masterpiece. Gameplay: Slow, Powerful, and R-Rated Justice The core of Rogue City is its unique, deliberate gameplay loop. This is not a twitchy, run-and-gun FPS. You are RoboCop: a massive, half-ton cyborg who moves with a slow, purposeful thud. Combat is a glorious power fantasy. You tank damage, blast criminals with the iconic Auto-9, and utilize destructible environments to your advantage. Every explosion, every dismemberment, and every iconic line delivered by Peter Weller (who returns to voice the titular role) is pure 80s nostalgia bliss. For those of you who dislike high difficulty and constant repetition, this game is a solid fit. While there are difficulty options to ramp up the challenge, the standard setting is designed to make you feel like the tank you are. You won't be dying hundreds of times at the same choke point—you’ll be moving forward, relentlessly dispensing justice. Progression and Content The game features light RPG elements and a compelling investigative structure that breaks up the shooting. When you’re not executing search warrants, you're back at the precinct, managing public opinion, chatting with familiar faces like Officer Lewis, and solving low-level crimes by issuing citations. The skill tree is straightforward and rewards customization, allowing you to spec into combat, investigation, or psychological profiling. Importantly, this system does not require any form of painful grinding. Progression is tied directly to completing missions and making tough choices, not farming arbitrary resources. I recommend looking at the editions that include the "Unfinished Business" DLC to ensure you get all the extra narrative content. Graphics and Engine Fidelity (UE5) The game runs on Unreal Engine 5. While I'm wary of this engine, I can report that the developers used it effectively to create a heavily stylized, retro-futuristic Detroit. The night lighting, neon glow, and dystopian aesthetic are fantastic. However, in line with some of the criticisms levied against UE5 games, the fidelity can be inconsistent—some character models and interior textures can look a bit dated. This inconsistency is sometimes interpreted as part of the intentional retro B-movie look, but it’s worth noting that it is not a perfectly optimized, next-gen graphical showcase. It is, however, more than functional and immersive enough that the atmosphere carries the weight. Verdict RoboCop: Rogue City is a love letter to the original films and easily the best adaptation of the franchise ever made. It succeeds because it slows down the typical FPS formula to make you feel like RoboCop. If you're a fan of the franchise or enjoy single-player, story-rich action that doesn't demand extreme difficulty or grinding, you will love your time in Old Detroit. Final Score: 9/10 (A perfect power fantasy.)
