Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood

At it's core Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood is a point and click stealth game with a wonderful Robin Hood flavor. The mechanics are basic but have some interesting challenges and scenarios. You spend most of the game figuring out various ways to sneak past guard and explore the environment. I have put a lot of hours into this game over the years and I love finding new routes or locations I have never seen. The visuals are great and are a relic of a bygone era. I remember playing this on just a basic laptop in 2002 and it always ran great. I think this is a great game for anyone looking for something different or enjoys Robin Hood. P.S. Runs great on Linux. As a kid I was obsessed with Robin Hood. I read all the books, comics, watched all the movies so obviously I played this game over and over again. I thought it was brilliant. I came back to this title after many many years and oh boi did it age well. You got great mechanics, various characters with varying skills, good voice acting (although it's shame some characters are mute). Also, the game itself can be difficult, promoting stealth over fighting on harder levels, but when you're not into this you can go full out rampage with no problem on easy. Great game after all

Multiple games in one, based on the style you want to play. Ranging from fast surgical run directly for the goal, to a hard-earned many-hours stealth victores sparing every single possible life. Although its age can be easily spoted, well-made graphic age like wine. -- Everything above said, the joy can be interrupted by several short mission repeating themselves over and over again and user-unfriendly controls. Many buildings cannot be went around the wall, your prepared combos randomly don´t apply, pulling the weapon takes longer than average archer hitting you twice, when you figt in a group, you hide your weapon and pull it again for every enemy there, few funny bugs in the enemy AI, few frustrating bugs in your characters AI, ... -- If you still feels like "yeah, I can live with those issues", go and buy it now! :) The game is huge fun and it can hold you nearby till you finish it. And if you just hang around looking for something new fot tonights evening, you won´t be disappointed ith this pice either.

I remember playing this back in the day (wow now I sound like my dad...). This is a classic game, full of features and different way's to accomplish objectives. Not only that it has an excellent, albeit done to death, story. I think it was ahead of it's time. To be honest it has aged quite well. The game is very similar to Commando's. Each character has different abilities and assists in ways of sneaking, and smashing your way around the map to complete certain scenarios. There are main characters but also random characters that join with similar abilities to your main ones. This helps as in the downtime during missions you can assign people back at your base to construct things like traps and nets etc. It really was a cleverly designed game and back in the day when you did not get the chance to release a day one patch or the mass production of clone video games. A lot of care and love went into this one and I highly recommend it for 10 bucks, you will get excellent value for your time, i've replayed it more than once. This is my opinion however, as i do enjoy strategy rpg games. If you prefer the FPS route than you probably wont like this.

Definitely worth playing, although the game has some awful level design at times, forcing you to fight NPCs. Still that's only a tiny part of the game, so the 5 star is deserved.
