Beautiful work, and as a lover of original Riven I was very surprised at all the new puzzles and reworking of some of the old ones! The textures and environments are immersive and gorgeous. My sole disappointment was the CGI characters instead of the classic actors. Limitations, I guess, but it lost some of Riven's greatest charm and feel. Regardless, I'm loving this playthrough and have barely scratched the surface so far, I know. Thank you, Cyan!
This isn't just a visual reworking; there are also a number of additions and changes to the world. All of them fit well enough that if you are new to the game it all feels cohesive, and as someone who has play through the original a few times, the changes give you a few unexpected turns.
If you've ever played Riven in the nineties, you know it was the most beautiful captivating game of its time. Today a brand new remaster even surpasses the original. For new and old players. Very recommended!
