good fun
has anyone noticed the wallpaper at the top of this page is from the cover to return to mysterious island 2? which is not on gog (that's a request guys). this is like a cross between lost and myst god fun like to see 2 hint, hint.

Why such a high rating?
Although the game looked promising at first, there are various annoyances that don't allow RtMI to rise above being a bad game. -The unbelievably clunky way of not placing the objects in the inventory automatically, especially combined with the clutter of carrying around dozens of similar items. (Kheops did the same thing for path of the Dragon, I still haven't understood the reason behind this terrible design choice). -Not sure about it, but the game has dead ends, which is a deal-breaker for me. -The backtracking and the general navigation of the game is tear-jerkingly tedious. -Some puzzles are too cryptic, for example the battery-creating combination. -And having to comb every screen at 360 degrees for the hotspots...not fun and a bit nausea-inducing.

no invert mouse
I played too many fps with intverted mouse to not get completely confused when playing this static first person game wihtout horizonal inversion
