Still great

I've just played this game again after many years, having downloaded from GOG. In terms of the game, i haven't tried MP but have played through the SP campaign again and for the most part really enjoyed it - i love fast-paced shooters and while it's fundamentally linear there are different approaches to be made to some of the maps. There's a decent variety of weapons and enemies and whilst some others have said the dialogue is repetitive (in which game is it not?!) i actually think the NPCs have more to say than in some more recent games. In some ways it reminds me of Far Cry 1 without the tropical island - even the 'helper' who talks to you on the comlink, and as with FC1 there's some amusing taunts - "Try and take ME, miner!" and my favourite "It's just you and me miner!" The blasting of holes in walls is also fun and innovative at the time Of course the graphics are dated but perfectly good enough, in fact i'm quite impressed with the characters' faces. There is one glitch i can find when the submarine you're supposed to use blows up but you can find a solution (not a cheat) by googling. But overall this is a great game and assuming you understand the concept of this site and really enjoy this...

Game breaking bugs make it unplayable

Unfortunately have to give this 2 stars, it would've been a solid 4 stars if I could finish it. I got stuck in two separate places after starting the game twice, once with the submarine explosion bug and once with a double door elevator. People have already posted clips of these bugs on youtube so no sense showing it. It was on sale so what the heck, the concept and setting is nice. Shame about the bugs and (so far) level design not taking full advantage of the destructible environment gimmick.

A Really good shooter

Just really good, I would seriously recommend it for some pure late 90s early 2000s shooting adventure, It does get a tad hard by the end, but it's manageable, I absolutely loved it!

Rockin' Good Fun - Spoiler Alert!

This is based on the steam version, but I will buy here anyway. Well worth it. I put off playing this game for so long, but I'm glad that I recently played it and never looked back. I used the Dash Faction mod, which makes the game look fantastic, has widescreen among other options. As a shooter it is so much fun. Destructible terrain, a decent array of weaponry, a varied level design, vehicles, monsters, challenging enemies and bosses, stealth and a decent storyline. The best thing I liked about this game was the way it gradually ramped up the difficulty with harder enemies and bosses the further you progressed. However, there is one fly in the ointment that stops this being a 5 star review. The end of the game. You run a gauntlet of rock hard enemies to get to the final boss, which is then a collosal fight in itself. You finally defeat the boss and then as the last action of the game get presented by a memory puzzle, which is also on a countdown timer. Why someone thought this was a good idea, god only knows? Anyway, if you like early 2000s shooters like I do, buy it, you'll love it!

Awesome...

If You liked the retro movie "Total Recall" (, or the newer redux that's not as good), then You will most likely enjoy the story of this game, as it was made to be that movie's game, but they lost the rights before it released, and had to change a few things... it's typical FPS fare for the time, looks, and controls well enough, but was literally the first game of it's genre to have destructable environments, as in blowing holes through walls, or even floors to get to new areas, rooms, or secrets, & this is used a lot in the story mode, but in multiplayer is where this shines... I used to blast holes into the walls with rockets making staircases to camping spots, then climb to them, & snipe, or just wait for friends, bots, or people online to come try to get the ________ (insert things people want in the game like rockets, or big armor), My hole was above. IDK if the multiplayer works here on GOGlike it used to on PC, but this game can be loads of fun with friends, or strangers alike!
